When Saatva set out to make a mattress in 2010, they wanted to upend the luxury mattress marketplace with a bed that doesn’t break the bank. The Saatva Mattress achieves just that, offering an exceptional innerspring bed composed of two coil layers – a coiled support base under individually wrapped coils – beneath high density memory foam and a euro pillow top.
Saatva is an eco-conscious company that uses environmentally friendly materials throughout their bed. As a green option, Saatva has also cornered the market with free White Glove delivery, further establishing themselves as one of the pre-eminent, direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses.
The coil-on-coil support and reinforced edge helps maintain an even surface that will you aligned throughout the night. Also, you won’t be concerned about the Saatva conforming to your pressure points, since this bed has a nice cushioned feel.
With three firmness options – Medium Soft (4), Medium Firm (6), and Firm (7.5) – the Saatva Mattress can accommodate most everyone’s preferences and body profile. Check out our complete review below to learn more.

WHAT USERS ARE SAYING
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Most innerspring mattresses last between six and seven years, and Saatva mattresses seem to be on par with this lifespan. However, Euro-top covers are generally linked to below-average durability.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Like other innersprings, the Saatva mattress does not absorb or minimize motion to a significant extent. This may be problematic for certain sleepers, such as couples who share a bed, since minimal motion isolation can lead to sleep disruptions.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:The Saatva mattress emits some off-gassing (due in part to the polyfoam and memory foam layers), but most owners report that the odors dissipate within three to five days of unpackaging the mattress.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Saatva features coil-on-coil construction and memory foam in the comfort layer. This allows the mattress to conform more closely and relieve pressure to a greater extent than many competing innersprings — but all-foam and latex mattresses are considered the best option for sleepers that prefer close conforming and targeted pressure relief.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:The Saatva mattress is highly responsive and fairly bouncy, although the ‘Plush Soft’ and ‘Luxury Firm’ designs tend to be better for sex than the ‘Firm’ setting.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Mattresses that contain foam and memory foam tend to sleep the hottest. Saatva mattresses contain memory foam in the comfort layer, making them a hotter than other innersprings (which are generally considered the coolest sleeping option). The Plush Soft design reportedly sleeps the warmest because sleepers tend to sink more deeply.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Innerspring mattresses tend to have optimal edge support and the Saatva is no exception. Customers report a consistent sleep surface (no-roll off when sleeping towards the edge) as well as above-average push back when sitting on the edge of the mattress.
WHAT USERS ARE SAYING:Roughly 7% of Saatva owners cite noise as a complaint. This is on par with noise complaints from all innerspring owners.
What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Saatva Mattress?
Based on our customer feedback, Saatva mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.
Customer data combined with our own testing process, which uses sleepers of three different weight profiles sleeping in different positions, shows the Saatva is a superb choice for most folks. If you’re lighter weight, the Firm and Luxury Firm builds might be too firm. So, for those sleepers who weigh in below 130 lbs, we recommend the Plush Soft.
If you’re a little heavier, the Saatva the Firm and Luxury Firm will fit your profile quite well. You will definitely get the support you need on this mattress.
Our testing process found the Saatva should also be great for you if…
You suffer from back pain. Especially, if you need more mid-back support.
You sleep hot and need a bed that regulates temperature exceptionally well.
You like the feeling of floating on top of your mattress, rather than the sink-in hug that memory foam provides.
Want more customized choice on firmness.
You’re looking for a highly responsive bed with great bounce.
After the data collection and testing we’ve done, here are the categories where the Saatva mattress stood out:
Saatva mattresses are available in three different firmness ratings: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Based on our firmness scale, these correspond to 4 (Medium Soft), 6 (Medium Firm), and 7.5 (Firm), respectively. A detailed breakdown of mattress layers and components is found in the table below.
Firmness is rated on a scale of 1 to 10. For more information on how firmness is calculated, please visit our Mattress Firmness page.

9 out of 10 customer experiences show consumers have had a positive experience with Saatva, irrespective of whether or not they liked the product.
Saatva was founded in 2010 and launched in 2011.
Saatva does not operate any brick-and-mortar stores or showrooms; all purchases and deliveries are arranged online.
As any good consumer does with a product they’re considering, our mattress assessments always incorporate comparisons with similar products. No matter if it’s composition, firmness, or price, we think it’s important to see how the Saatva stacks up to other mattresses.
The Saatva Mattress is priced exceptionally well for what many deem a luxury bed. This is especially true when comparing it to other mattresses in it’s category. While innerspring beds can be found at very low prices, they don’t come close to meeting the quality of materials that the Saatva is made of. We love the price point on the Saatva relative to it’s nearest competition, which includes the WinkBed, Sapira, Nest’s Alexander Signature Hybrid, and the Brooklyn Aurora.
