Anti-Snoring Reviews

If chronic snoring is keeping you awake at night, anti-snoring devices might be the key to help you achieve better sleep. Check out our reviews of the best anti-snoring devices, and come back later to find new reviews.

Snoring is a common cause of poor sleep, both for the people who snore and for those who share a bed with people who snore. Anti-snoring devices can be helpful tools for minimizing snoring and improving sleep quality. To help choose which anti-snoring device is best for you, here are a few tips and reviews of the top devices on the market.

What Is an Anti-Snoring Device?

The most common types of anti-snoring devices are anti-snoring mouthpieces and mouthguards. These devices fit in the mouth and are designed to open up the airway, which helps reduce or eliminate snoring. The two most common types of anti-snoring mouthpieces are mandibular advancement devices (MADs) and tongue retaining devices (TRDs).

How to Choose an Anti-Snoring Device

When picking an anti-snoring device, it’s helpful to consider factors such as customization options, adjustability, and comfort. While MADs and TRDs both achieve the goal of opening up the airway, they are designed differently and accomplish this goal using different methods. In order to decide which device is best for you, it’s important to consider how the features of each model will serve your personal needs and preferences.

Types of Anti-Snoring Devices

MADs: MADs work by pushing the lower jaw forward. This helps hold the tongue in place, which in turn opens up the airway. Since jaws vary in size, MADs usually have more customization options than TRDs. Many MADs are made with a heat-sensitive thermoplastic that molds to your mouth when you boil then bite on it. Some MADs use other customization methods.

TRDs: Like MADs, TRDs work by holding the tongue in place in order to open up the airway. Unlike MADs, TRDs do not manipulate the jaw, making them a less invasive option than MADs. TRDs generally have little need for customization, but some TRD models do come in different sizes.
