What You Need to Know about the Zenhaven Mattress

Mattress Type and Components:

  • Zenhaven offers latex mattresses with a flippable, two-sided design.
  • Both sides feature a comfort layer constructed from Talalay latex; one side has a firmness rating of 4, while the other has a firmness rating of 7.
  • Both comfort layers also feature a thin layer of flame-retardant organic wool.
  • The shared support core is a constructed from Talalay latex.
  • The Zenhaven mattress comes with a cover woven from organic cotton.

  • The unique, flippable construction of Zenhaven mattresses allows sleepers to choose between two comfort levels.
  • The comfort layer and support core of a Zenhaven mattresses exclusively feature natural Talalay latex, which is considered the best type of latex for sleepers who prefer a soft, closely conforming surface — though the ‘Gentle Firm’ side will likely be satisfactory for those who would rather sleep on a firmer mattress.
  • Saatva/Zenhaven have earned a reputation for strong customer service, and all deliveries include in-home assembly.

  • The Zenhaven mattress is less expensive than the average latex model, but the price point will still be too high for many mattress shoppers.
  • The Zenhaven mattress is heavier than other latex models, which may cause difficulty for those attempting to flip it over.
  • The Zenhaven offers a 20 year warranty, but the company has only been in business since May 2016 and it is too soon to tell whether any durability claims will be proven accurate.

Product and Price Range: The Zenhaven mattress is available in six sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. These range in price from $1,249 (Twin) to $2,499 (King and California King). All Zenhaven mattresses are manufactured in the U.S. or Canada; in addition, all Talalay latex used in Zenhaven mattresses is produced in the U.S.

Sleep Trial and Warranty Information

Trial Period and Guarantee: A 120-day trial period begins on the day of delivery. No “penalty fees, pick-up fees, or re-stocking fees” will be incurred.
Warranty: Saatva offers a 20-year warranty on Zenhaven mattresses:

  • For the first two years, Saatva will completely replace a mattress at no extra charge to you if the mattress is deemed ‘defective’.
  • For the last 18 years, Saatva will repair and re-cover a Zenhaven mattress for a transportation fee of $99 each way.
  • Saatva’s ‘Fairness Replacement Option’ includes the following:
    • During years 3 to 5, you can choose to obtain a new mattress (rather than having the current one repaired) for 25% of the original price, plus a $99 delivery fee.
    • During years 6 to 10, you can choose to obtain a new mattress (rather than having the current one repaired) for 50% of the original price, plus a $99 delivery fee.
    • During years 11 to 20, you can choose to obtain a new mattress (rather than having the current one repaired) for 75% of the original price, plus a $99 delivery fee.
    • No matter how old the warranty is, you can choose to keep the original mattress at no additional charge if you decide to obtain a new mattress at the rates listed above.
  •  The warranty will remain valid as long as the mattress is used with a platform bed. If the platform bed has slats, users must place a solid surface layer — such as plywood or Masonite — over the slats to preserve a uniform surface on both sides of the mattress.
  • The warranty will be voided if a queen or king mattress is used with a metal bed frame that does not have a five- or six-legged support structure. The warranty will also be voided if a twin or full mattress is used with a metal bed frame that does not have four legs.
  • The warranty will cover body indentations that are deeper than 3/4″. Impressions shallower than this are considered standard wear-and-tear, and repairs will not be covered. The warranty also does not cover damage to the bed caused by the owner, such as burning or stains.
  • The warranty is only available to the original purchaser.
  • Customers must notify Saatva in writing regarding any claims with Zenhaven mattresses.
