Mattress Types and Components:

  • Wink Beds offers mattress models sold under the name ‘WinkBed.’ These models may be considered innersprings or hybrids, depending on the selected firmness.
  • The SoftLuxury Firm, and Firm iterations of the WinkBed are innerspring mattresses:

    • The support core features a layer of pocketed coils surrounded by an encasement of 1.5 PCF polyfoam (28 ILD).
  • The Plus firmness option is technically a hybrid mattress because it includes at least two inches of latex in the comfort layer and a pocketed coil support core:
    • The comfort layer features a top layer of 1.5 PCF gel polyfoam (17 ILD), a middle layer of latex (12 ILD), and a bottom ‘lumbar pad’ made of compressed cotton.

Wink Beds Mattress Sleep Ratings

CategoryCriteriaWinkBed RatingWhat WinkBed Users Say
Customer SatisfactionBased on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding the WinkBed mattress.75%The WinkBed has earned a customer satisfaction rating of 75%, which is significantly above-average compared to most other innerspring models.
DurabilityInnerspring and hybrid mattresses tend to degrade faster due to low-grade polyfoam used in the support core. The average lifespan is roughly six years.FairThe lifespan of the WinkBed appears to be average, but the company has been in business for fewer than two years and the long-term durability of this mattress has not been fully evaluated.
Motion IsolationInnerspring and hybrid mattresses generally do not absorb and isolate motion transfer to the same extent as foam or latex models.GoodMultiple foam layers allow the WinkBed to isolate motion transfer to a greater extent than other innersprings and hybrids, according to owners.
SexMost innersprings and hybrids are responsive and bouncy enough for sex, but excessively soft models may not be sufficient for some couples.Very GoodThe WinkBed is fairly responsive, and multiple firmness options allow couples to select a sleep surface that works best for them.
ConformingMost innersprings and hybrids do not conform very closely compared to foam or latex models, and owners report lower levels of pain and pressure relief.GoodWinkBed reviews are mixed in terms of conforming; those with softer beds say the mattress conforms closely and alleviates aches and pains, while firmer options do not conform as much.
Temperature NeutralityInnerspring and hybrid mattresses tend to retain low amounts of body heat and sleep fairly cool as a result.GoodLike many innersprings and hybrids, the WinkBed sleeps slightly warmer than most innersprings, but temperature neutrality is much better than foam or latex models.
Off-gassingOff-gassing may occur in innersprings and hybrids, but these models tend to produce less odor than those made exclusively of foam.GoodSome off-gassing odors have been reported by WinkBed owners, but these smells tend to dissipate within a few days.
Edge SupportInnersprings and hybrids usually provide more edge support than memory foam and latex mattresses, and are usually on par with traditional innersprings.Very GoodThe WinkBed provides strong edge support, and owners report minimal sinkage in places where they sit to get off of and onto the mattress.
NoiseInnersprings and hybrids tend to produce more noise than latex or foam mattresses, primarily due to the spring and coil components of the support core.FairThe WinkBed can be fairly noisy, but no louder than most other innerspring/hybrid mattress models.
Ease of Moving and RotatingAll mattresses are relatively heavy but some weigh much more than others, and this can make them difficult to move and maneuver.Very GoodA Queen-size WinkBed weighs 79 pounds, which is considerably light compared to other innerspring/hybrid mattress models.
