Quick Overview

Helix Sleep offers hybrid mattresses made with dual-layer covers, polyfoam comfort systems, and pocketed coil support cores reinforced with polyfoam base layers.

Helix Sleep offers full mattress customization. Customers are asked to fill out a questionnaire that discusses their height, weight, firmness preferences, sleep position, and other factors. Based on these results, Helix Sleep will recommend one of the following six mattress models; each individual model offers a unique combination of firmness and support:

  • Helix Sunset: ‘Soft’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Moonlight: ‘Soft’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Midnight: ‘Medium’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dusk: ‘Medium’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support
  • Helix Twilight: ‘Firm’ firmness, targeted cushioning, and balanced support
  • Helix Dawn: ‘Firm’ firmness, moderate cushioning, and extra support

Helix Sleep hybrids with targeted cushioning conform closely, making them optimal for side sleepers, while those with moderate support do not conform as much and are suitable for all sleep positions. Lighter individuals may feel most comfortable on models with balanced support, while those who weigh 130 pounds or more tend to prefer the models with extra support.

Helix Sleep also offers two mattresses with dual-firmness, the Helix Dual Balanced (with targeted cushioning and balanced support) and the Helix Dual Extra (with moderate cushioning and extra support). Both of these models have one ‘Soft’ side and one ‘Firm’ side, making them suitable for couples with differing preferences. Lastly, the Helix Nightfall is a hybrid designed for larger, heavier individuals. This mattress has an additional layer of memory foam for maximum support.

Our review of Helix Sleep mattresses found that the customizable selection accommodates sleepers with a wide range of body types and firmness preferences. The mattresses also offer strong edge support, isolate motion transfer well, and produce less noise than the average hybrid.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Helix Sleep Mattress?

Based on our customer feedback, Helix Sleep mattresses have received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

As you can see, mattresses from Helix Sleep are suitable for most sleepers regardless of their body type or sleep position thanks to the customizable design. Completing the Helix Sleep questionnaire accurately is key to finding the best mattress for you and your partner. However, one notable drawback is a lack of profile options; with the exception of the 12″ Helix Nightfall, all Helix Sleep mattresses are 10″ thick. This may be limiting for sleepers whose profile preferences are less or greater than 10″.

Our testing process found Helix Sleep mattresses should also be great for you if…

  • You’re looking for an affordable hybrid mattress.
  • Your body type falls outside the average weight group (130 to 230 pounds).
  • You experience pain and pressure points in your neck, shoulders, lower back, and other sensitive areas on a regular basis.
  • You and your sleep partner have differing firmness preferences, in which case a dual-firmness model may be the best option.

After the data collection and testing we’ve done, here are the categories where Helix Sleep mattresses stood out:

Trial Period and Guarantee

Helix Sleep offers a 100-night sleep trial for all mattress owners.

  1. This sleep trial includes a 30-night break-in period. Customers may not return their mattress until at least 30 nights have elapsed.
  2. Customers who are not satisfied with their mattress after sleeping on it can request a new comfort layer from Helix Sleep at no extra cost, which will make the mattress softer or firmer (depending on the request).
  3. Helix offers exchanges for mattress sizes, but not firmness settings.
  4. Once a refund has been issued to a customer, it will take roughly five to seven business days before the money shows up in their account statement.
  5. All returned mattresses are recycled or donated to charity.

Helix offers a 10-year limited warranty on all mattresses.

  1. Warranty coverage will begin on the original date of purchase.
  2. Helix Sleep will, at their sole discretion, choose to either repair or replace all mattresses with defects for as long as the warranty is valid.
  3. Helix Sleep mattresses are designed for use on ‘a firm, solid-surface, on a bed base that is structurally capable’ of supporting both the mattress and the sleeper(s). Failure to utilize a proper foundation may result in denied warranty claims and/or a voided warranty.
  4. The warranty will cover the following defects:
    • Deterioration in the sleep surface that causes indentations measuring 1″ or deeper.
    • Physical flaws in the mattress that cause the material to split or crack despite proper use and foundational support.
    • Manufacturing defects pertaining to the cover, including the zipper.
  5. The warranty will not cover the following:
    • A ‘normal increase’ in the softness of the sleep surface that does not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or indentations that measure less than 1″. These are both considered standard wear and tear.
    • Repair or replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s personal sleep preferences, such as mattress height, firmness or bed weight.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of damage caused directly by the owner./h6>
  6. Customers who wish to return a defective mattress must ship the item to Helix at their own expense and include a copy of the original proof of purchase. If the mattress is deemed defective, Helix will reimburse the owner for up to $100 of these shipping charges.
  7. Customers have the option of exchanging their current mattress for an upgrade model. In this case, the customer will pay the difference between the original model and the upgrade. It’s important to note that upgrade models will receive new limited warranty coverage that extends for 10 years after the customer has received their upgrade. Most customers receive their upgrade mattress within 90 days of returning their original model. Replacement mattresses that are not upgrades will follow the same warranty coverage as the original model.
  8. Warranty coverage is exclusively offered to the original purchaser. Anyone who acquires or buys a Helix mattress from the purchaser or a third-party mattress retailer will do so ‘as is’, and will not be eligible for warranty protection.

How is the mattress shipped? Helix Sleep mattresses are compressed, roll-packed, and boxed for shipping.
