Sleep Position Ratings
Leesa
The Leesa has a ‘Medium’ feel and an average thickness profile. These conditions are optimal for sleepers weighing between 130 and 230 pounds, as well as lighter and heavier individuals who prefer a balance of body conforming and firm support.
The Leesa is also a good pick for side sleepers, as the bed can improve spinal alignment and alleviate aches and pains. Other benefits of the mattress include great motion isolation, no noise when bearing weight, and decent temperature neutrality/cool sleep compared to many other all-foam beds.
Helix Midnight
Standard and Luxe Helix Midnight mattresses both have ‘Medium’ (5.5) firmness. Like the Leesa, these beds are ideal for anyone between 130 and 230 pounds. Lighter individuals may prefer the Standard design due to its low profile, while side sleepers and heavier people are more likely to enjoy the Luxe due to its thickness and deeper conforming abilities.
Both versions of the Helix Midnight isolate motion transfer very well and produce minimal noise. The beds also sleep exceptionally cool, even for hybrids. Please note that the ratings listed above reflect averages for both the Standard and Luxe Helix Midnight designs.

How Is the Leesa Built?
The Leesa’s dual-layer comfort system consists of a top polyfoam layer with an indentation load deflection (ILD) of 13 and a bottom memory foam layer with an ILD of 9. These components create a ‘Medium’ (5) feel that balances conforming and support, making the mattress suitable for most sleepers regardless of their weight or sleep position. The Leesa also has a high-density polyfoam support core that provides great reinforcement to the bed and helps minimize sinkage around the edges.
The Leesa has a thickness profile of 10″, which is on par with average mattress measurements. It also weighs 71 pounds in a Queen size, which is exceptionally light even by all-foam bed standards; most owners should have relatively little difficulty lifting and rotating the mattress.
How Is the Helix Midnight Built?
A Standard Helix Midnight has a comfort system featuring a single memory foam comfort layer and a transitional polyfoam layer. The mattress offers a ‘Medium’ (5.5) feel and conforms somewhat closer than the Leesa, though it won’t sink as deeply as other, softer hybrids. The Standard Midnight has pocketed coils with one uniform gauge, along with a high-density base layer for added reinforcement. It measures 10″ thick and weighs 84 pounds in a Queen size, making it shorter and much lighter than the average hybrid.
The Luxe Helix Midnight has a similar construction, but with a couple of key differences. The Luxe has a gel memory foam comfort layer on top of the memory foam layer, allowing the bed to conform a bit closer – though the Luxe is also considered ‘Medium’ (5.5). The bed’s pocketed coils are also zoned, with higher-gauge (thinner) coils beneath the shoulders and lower-gauge (thicker) coils under the hips. This arrangement provides targeted sleeper support, and is particularly suitable for heavier individuals. The Luxe Helix Midnight measures 14″ thick and weighs 120 pounds in a Queen size.
