Sleep Position Ratings
The Casper Mattress
The Casper has a ‘Medium’ feel and a 12-inch profile, both of which make it ideal for sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. Lighter individuals – particularly side sleepers – may also feel comfortable on the Casper, but heavier people are likely to find the mattress too soft and prone to sagging in certain areas. The Casper isolates motion very well and does not make any noise when bearing weight. As a result, it is a great choice for couples too.
The Loom & Leaf Mattress
The Loom & Leaf’s ‘Medium’ (5.5) and ‘Firm (8) settings accommodates sleepers with different weights and position preferences. Lighter people and side sleepers are likely to prefer the ‘Medium’ option because it conforms closer, while heavier people and back/stomach sleepers may find the ‘Firm’ design suits them best. Like the Casper, the Loom & Leaf isolates motion transfer exceptionally well and produces no noise. It also sleeps cooler than many other all-foam beds, due in part to its organic cotton cover and gel memory foam layer.

How Is the Casper Built?
The Casper’s comfort system features top and bottom layers of polyfoam, along with a middle memory foam layer. These components create a ‘Medium’ feel that provides close body conforming, making it optimal for sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds and side sleepers seeking improved spinal alignment. A high-density polyfoam support core reinforces the entire bed to help maintain a sag-free surface and prevent sinking along the edges.
The Casper has a 12-inch profile, which is close to average. It also weighs 71 pounds in a queen size, which is lighter than most competing all-foam beds. As a result, most owners will have minimal difficulty lifting and rotating their Casper mattress.
How Is the Loom & Leaf Built?
The Loom & Leaf contains a total of four foam layers. These include comfort layers of gel memory foam and standard memory foam, which offer even body conforming and targeted pressure relief, as well as two layers of high-density polyfoam in the support core for added reinforcement. The organic cotton cover is quilted with extra foam padding, as well.
Each firmness option for the Loom & Leaf will be suitable for different sleepers. The ‘Medium’ (5.5) option is optimal for lighter individuals and side sleepers, while the ‘Firm’ (8) setting may be more comfortable for heavier people, as well as back and stomach sleepers.
At 12 inches thick, the Loom & Leaf is thicker than average. It is also relatively heavy compared to other all-foam beds – 93 pounds in a queen size – which may make it difficult to lift and rotate for some owners.
