Quick Summary

Quick Summary

Standard Textile is a U.S.-based bedding manufacturer headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. The brand is best known for supplying sheets, pillowcases and other materials to high-end hotels worldwide. Currently, the company sells the following sheet sets to non-commercial customers.

  • The Centium Satin Sheet Set features a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and one to two pillowcases made from a blend of ring-spun combed cotton and microfilament polyester. The fitted sheet has a pocket depth of 14 inches. Despite the name, the components of this set are produced with a sateen (not satin) weave.
  • The Classic Cotton Sheet Set is a three- to four-piece sheet and pillowcase set crafted from long-staple cotton in a crisp percale weave. The fitted sheet in this collection has a pocket depth of 14 inches.
  • The Luxe Bedding Collection, also known as the Paragon Bedding Collection, features components made from long-staple cotton in a soft sateen weave. Standard Textile allows buyers to customize their set by purchasing the following individual items: flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases, two pillow shams, and/or a reversible duvet cover. The fitted sheet for all sizes has a pocket depth of 16 inches.

All three Standard Textile sets are available in six sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. Additionally, each set can be washed and dried in any household machine. The percale Classic Cotton Sheet Set is exceptionally breathable and resistant to wear and tear. The sateen Centium and Luxe sets are also fairly durable, as well as silky-soft.
The Luxe Bedding Collection has a price-point that is slightly above-average, especially when customers purchase all seven components. The other two collections have below-average price-points. Standard Textile offers free shipping for all orders, as well as a 90-night sleep trial with full refunds on all returns.

Ratings

Standard Textile sheet sets are widely used in luxury hotels due to their premium materials and easy care instructions. However, each set differs in terms of feel, fit, durability, and other performance factors. The table below lists our ratings for the Centium, Classic Cotton, and Luxe collections.

Fit

As you can see, Standard Textile’s three sheet sets vary from one another in several ways. Fit is an important consideration for shoppers because the Centium and Classic Cotton collections have fitted sheets with pocket depths of 14 inches. This is fairly limited compared to many competing sets, and may be insufficient for buyers with thick mattresses. The Luxe collection offers a pocket depth of 16 inches by comparison.

Other variables include feel and breathability. The Centium and Luxe sets feature components crafted in a sateen weave, giving them a silky-soft hand feel. However, sateen sheets are not very breathable and may sleep too hot for some. The Classic Cotton set, on the other hand, is produced using a percale weave. Percale is too crisp for some sleepers, but the material is very breathable compared to sateen.

All three sets have components that are fairly durable, giving each one a reasonable lifespan. Additionally, owners can wash and dry each of these sets in a machine, making them very convenient and cheap to clean.
