How Is the Allswell Mattress Constructed?
Cover
The Allswell Mattress has a cover made from a blend of 98 percent polyester and 2 percent Lycra spandex. This material has a very soft and stretchy feel. The cover is also quilted with 1 inch of cotton padding to provide extra cushioning for sleepers.
Comfort Layers
The mattress features a 2-inch comfort layer of copper- and graphite-infused gel memory foam. Due to its medium-firm feel, the foam does not conform very closely and offers more support for heavier individuals. The material is also designed to be temperature-neutral, as both copper and graphite have natural cooling properties.
Support Layers
The Allswell Mattress has a support core that consists of 7-inch pocketed coils. This layer is zoned, with lower-gauge (thicker) coils reinforcing the perimeter to minimize sinkage and make the edges more stable for sleepers. Mattress Height
The Allswell Mattress measures 10 inches thick, making it a medium-profile model. The bed’s height is mostly composed of pocketed coils, and the design does not include a transitional component between the comfort and support layers. As a result, the mattress sacrifices memory foam thickness and closer body-conforming for more overall support.

What Are the Firmness and Feel Like?
The Allswell Mattress is medium-firm. The memory foam layer does not conform very closely and the mattress may feel too firm for lightweight individuals – side sleepers in particular. However, the bed’s thick pocketed coils ensure even support and less body sinking, making the mattress more suitable for sleepers who weigh at least 130 pounds.
The Allswell Mattress is also fairly responsive and has a bouncy feel similar to a traditional innerspring model. This attribute, combined with the bed’s mid-level firmness and minimal conforming ability, creates a floating feeling for sleepers that can be likened to lying “on” – and not “in” – the mattress.

Performance Ratings
Next, let’s take a closer look at our performance ratings for the Allswell Mattress. These ratings are based on findings from our internal and external testing teams, along with reviews from verified mattress owners.
Durability
The Allswell Mattress has been available to the public for less than two years, and we have not had enough time to evaluate this model across the average mattress lifespan of six to eight years. Our durability rating for the mattress is based on quality of materials and construction, owner experiences, and Allswell’s overall reputation.
We estimate the Allswell Mattress to perform for about six and a half to seven years before it needs to be replaced. This expected lifespan puts the mattress on par with the average hybrid model. The bed’s zoned pocketed coils are designed to preserve the edges, resulting in less sinkage along the perimeter, and its medium-firm feel should prevent excessive sagging.
However, body impressions may develop in the sleep surface over time due to deterioration of the memory foam layer.
Mattress owners can protect against deep body impressions by rotating their mattress head-to-foot every three to six months.
Motion Isolation
To evaluate the Allswell Mattress for motion isolation, we asked two testers to lie down side by side. One tester moved around in bed while the other felt for motion transferring across the surface. During these tests, the Allswell Mattress exhibited good motion isolation.
Although the mattress is fairly responsive, its cotton-padded cover and memory foam comfort layer absorb and minimize transfer to a noticeable extent.
Off-Gassing
When unboxing the Allswell Mattress, our testers noticed some faint off-gassing odor. They re-evaluated the mattress several days later and found the smells had mostly dissipated, but there was still some lingering odor. This is primarily due to the bed’s memory foam layer, which has a higher long-term odor potential than other common mattress materials.
That said, we don’t anticipate any serious off-gassing issues with the mattress. The coil layer promotes strong air circulation, and this should help minimize unwanted smells over time.
Pressure Relief
To evaluate the Allswell Mattress for pressure relief, our testers took turns lying on a sensory pad that tracks pressure build-up in sensitive areas of the body. The testers also shifted sleep positions to see if pressure increased or decreased when lying on their sides, back, or stomach.
The Allswell Mattress did not conform very closely to our lightweight testers, and they felt added pressure in the shoulders and hips as a result. Testers in the average weight and heavyweight groups felt more comfortable on the mattress, but they still experienced some pressure buildup.
Temperature Neutrality
The Allswell Mattress offers very good temperature neutrality. The pocketed coils promote strong airflow to keep the interior cool. The mattress also maintains a comfortable surface temperature due to its minimal body-conforming. Comparatively, beds that conform closely tend to trap more body heat and sleep warmer.
Hybrid and innerspring models generally provide above-average temperature neutrality. All-foam mattresses do not circulate air as well due to their solid support cores, causing them to absorb more body heat and sleep warmer.
Edge Support
To evaluate the Allswell Mattress for edge support, our testers sat along the perimeter as an owner might do when getting in and out of bed. None of the testers experienced significant sinkage. This can be attributed to the zoned support layer, which features thicker pocketed coils along the perimeter for added reinforcement and stability.
Our testers also took turns lying near the edges of the mattress. All of them felt very secure, even when changing sleep positions. Edge support is a key strength of this mattress.
Noise
During our assessments for the Allswell Mattress, our testers did not notice any noise. This is to be expected, as the pocketed coils found in hybrids are fairly quiet compared to the bonnell or offset coils found in innerspring models. The Allswell Mattress may produce some squeaks and creaks as it nears the end of its lifespan, but we don’t foresee major noise-related sleep disruptions for owners.
Sex
Due to its medium-firm feel and noticeable responsiveness, the Allswell Mattress will be ideal for those who enjoy springier surfaces during sex. The mattress does not conform very closely, allowing couples to change positions easily and use the entire surface of the mattress. The relatively quiet pocketed coils also make this model fairly discreet for sex.
Sleeper Ratings
The ideal firmness and thickness settings for a mattress largely depend on a sleeper’s body weight, shape, and preferred sleep position. In order to better inform our readers and avoid subjectivity in our review, we evaluated the bed with sleep testers of varying body types and position preferences.
Lightweight Sleepers – Less than 130 lbs.
Our lightweight testers gave mixed ratings to the Allswell Mattress. Back and stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds noted a good balance of body-conforming and support, though they felt a bit of added pressure in the shoulders and hips.
Side sleepers in this weight group were not as comfortable. These sleepers usually need extra cushioning to align the spine and alleviate pressure points. Despite its cotton-padded cover, the Allswell Mattress did not improve spinal alignment very much, leaving lighter side sleepers with a fair amount of pressure.
Lightweight sleepers typically prefer soft to medium-soft mattresses. Firmer beds like the Allswell Mattress may not conform closely enough to align the spine and alleviate pressure points for sleepers in this weight group.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130 to 230 lbs.
Our average weight testers across different sleep positions gave the Allswell Mattress a ‘good’ rating. Side sleepers noted adequate padding and better spinal alignment. Likewise, back and stomach sleepers did not sink too deeply due to the bed’s thick pocketed coils. However, all testers weighing 130 to 230 pounds experienced a bit of added pressure.
Sleepers in the average weight group often find medium-soft to medium-firm mattresses most comfortable. These settings tend to offer the best balance of pressure relief and support. The Allswell Mattress is best suited to sleepers in this weight group who prefer more support and less body sinking, but the bed will probably feel too firm for those who enjoy closer body-conforming.
Heavyweight Sleepers – More than 230 lbs.
Our most favorable ratings for the Allswell Mattress came from testers in the heavyweight group. Side sleepers noted significant improvements in their spinal alignment and sufficient pressure relief, while back sleepers did not sink too deeply and felt very supported.
Stomach sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds also enjoyed the mattress overall, but they experienced some sagging around the midsection. This is a common issue associated with the stomach sleeping position because most people carry a large portion of weight around their waist and hips.
Sleeping face-down can cause the sleeper’s midsection to sink too deeply, resulting in added neck and shoulder pain.

The Allswell Supreme is the brand’s luxury hybrid option. This model has a medium feel, making it noticeably less firm than the Allswell Mattress, and its comfort system includes a Euro-top layer for extra cushioning. Lighter individuals experience closer body-conforming and more pressure relief with the Allswell Supreme, while the Allswell Mattress provides better support for heavier people.

Both models are constructed with 10-inch profiles that include padded covers, 2-inch foam comfort layers, and pocketed coil support cores. The Brooklyn Bedding Bowery Hybrid and Allswell Mattress both have medium-firm settings, as well.
Other common characteristics between these two models include strong edge support, consistent temperature neutrality, and good responsiveness for sex. One key difference is pressure relief. The Allswell Mattress alleviates more pressure for sleepers due to its memory foam comfort layer, which conforms more closely to the sleeper’s body than the Brooklyn Bedding Bowery Hybrid’s polyfoam comfort layer.

Like the Allswell Mattress, the Casper Essential offers a medium-firm feel, but its 3.5-inch polyfoam and memory foam comfort system offers closer body-conforming. The T&N Mattress is an all-foam bed that offers very good pressure relief and motion isolation. It is constructed with a comfort layer of graphite and gel infused polyfoam over a high-density polyfoam support core. Like the Allswell, it is a budget friendly pick with a medium-firm feel.
Due to its all-foam construction, the T&N Mattress offers a combined feeling of sleeping “in” and “on” the bed, as opposed to the Allswell’s floating feeling. The differences in the two beds’ construction also account for the T&N’s better ratings for noise, pressure relief, and motion isolation. The Allwell’s hybrid construction gives it better edge support, better temperature neutrality, and more responsiveness for sex.
Both beds are relatively affordable, but the Allswell is offered at a lower price-point. Where Can I Buy the Allswell Mattress?
The Allswell Mattress is available for purchase on the Allswell website, as well as Walmart.com, but it is not sold in any brick-and-mortar locations.

Allswell ships mattresses to all 50 states. However, expedited and White Glove delivery are only available in the contiguous U.S.

Full Delivery Policy
The delivery policy for Allswell is as follows:
- Allswell mattress orders are processed within one to two business days. Standard deliveries are usually made within two to seven business days, while White Glove deliveries are usually made within three to eight business days.
- In addition to free standard deliveries, customers in the contiguous U.S. may select White Glove delivery for a flat charge of $99. This includes in-home mattress assembly and packaging waste disposal. For an additional $50 ($149 total), White Glove customers may arrange for their old mattress to be removed.

Trial Period and Warranty Details
Trial Period and Guarantee: Allswell offers a 100-night sleep trial for all mattress owners.
- Allswell does not require customers to break in the mattress before requesting a return, but the company recommends testing out the bed for at least three weeks.
- Allswell provides refunds for the mattress price only. Charges for delivery, mattress removal, and recycling are non-refundable.
- Customers who request a return will be put in contact with one of Allswell’s haul away partners, who will reach out to the customer within two business days.
- Refunds are normally issued within 10 to 14 business days after the mattress is removed from the customer’s residence.
Warranty: Allswell offers a 10-year limited warranty on all mattresses.
- This warranty is prorated. Allswell will, at its sole discretion, repair defective mattresses or issue a prorated refund to owners for as long as the warranty is valid.
- Warranty coverage is contingent on proper foundational support. Per Allswell: ‘ It is incumbent on the consumer to maintain a proper foundation to provide the appropriate support for the mattress to maintain this warranty. Use of improper foundations, platforms or other bases upon which the mattress is placed, may result in damage to the product. The warranty will be voided if an improper base is used that causes the mattress to fail.’
- Mattress owners are responsible for all charges associated with transporting repaired mattresses.
- The warranty will cover sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure 1.5 inches or deeper.
- The warranty will not cover sagging or indentations that do not measure at least 1.5 inches deep. Additionally, the warranty does not cover physical damage, such as burns, cuts, stains, and defects due to use of an electric or heated blanket.
- This warranty is exclusively offered to original owners who purchase their mattress from Allswell or an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not qualify for warranty coverage.
