Sleep Position Ratings
DreamCloud
The DreamCloud’s ‘Medium Firm’ surface makes the bed optimal for heavier side sleepers, as well as back and stomach sleepers who weigh at least 130 pounds. The bed’s thick profile can also be helpful for heavier individuals, since people in this weight group often struggle getting on and off lower-profile mattresses. The DreamCloud may be too firm for lighter individuals – particularly side sleepers who need extra cushioning for their shoulders and hips in order to experience healthy spinal alignment.
Saatva Classic
The Saatva Classic is available in multiple thickness and firmness settings. The selection should accommodate a wide range of sleepers. The ‘Medium Soft’ setting is a good option for lighter people – side sleepers, in particular – while the firmer settings may be more suitable for heavier back and stomach sleepers. Both profile options are thicker than average, which can also benefit heavier people who struggle getting on and off lower mattresses.

- You prefer mattresses that fall between ‘Medium Soft’ and ‘Firm,’ with varying conforming abilities

How Is the DreamCloud Built?
The DreamCloud is constructed with a Euro-top cover made from hand-tufted cashmere that measures 2 inches thick. It also has comfort layers of gel-infused memory foam, quilted memory foam, natural latex, and standard memory foam; these components collectively measure 3 inches thick, resulting in 5 inches of comfort layer padding. This makes the mattress suitable for sleepers who prefer extra cushioning on their sleep surface.
The pocketed coils are encased in high-density foam, which helps prevent sagging in the sleep surface. The coils are also zoned, with thicker-gauge springs located beneath the sleeper’s heaviest areas, such as the shoulders and hips, which results in targeted support and even weight displacement. Other benefits of the DreamCloud include great temperature neutrality and above-average motion isolation.
How Is the Saatva Built?
The Saatva – like the DreamCloud – has a sophisticated design that sets it apart from many competing innersprings and hybrids. The bed is made with a ‘coil-on-coil’ system consisting of pocketed coils in the comfort system, which provide extra sleeper support, and resilient, steel-tempered bonnell coils in the support core. Additional comfort layers of polyfoam and memory foam provide consistent body conforming, which can help alleviate aches, pains, and pressure points for sleepers.
The Saatva also sleeps very cool due to strong air circulation through both coil layers. Its breathable organic cotton cover also helps regulate the sleeper’s temperature. Additionally, the Saatva is fairly responsive, which many couples say is best for sex, but noise potential is also fairly low.
