The result is a cool, comfortable sleep for most. The pillow-top model conforms more closely, making it ideal for side and back sleepers who weigh up to 230 pounds, while the non-pillow-top version does not conform as much and is most suitable for heavier back and stomach sleepers.

Now let’s look at how the Avocado and Zenahven Mattress models are made. The table below lists firmness, thickness, weight, and composition specs for both beds.
The Avocado Green mattress is a hybrid latex mattress. On the top are 2 inches of Dunlop latex. The support core sits below that with one inch of Dunlop latex, all on 8 inches of pocketed coils.
A pillowtop version is available for an additional $240 and adds two inches of thickness. Given its hybrid construction, this mattress sleeps cool for latex. The coiled supportive bottom promotes airflow and allows any heat that enters the mattress from sleepers to easily escape.
The queen size weighs 97 pounds and is 11 inches high. The mattress has handles for easy move-in or flipping, although Avocado mattresses do not need to be flipped.
This mattress ranks a 6.5 in firmness on the 1-10 firmness scale, making it a firm mattress. The pillowtop version that adds 2 inches of Dunlop latex to the top makes this hybrid mattress a 5 on the firmness scale.
How Is the Zenhaven Mattress Built?
The Zenhaven mattress has three layers, all encased in a soft organic cotton cover. At the core of the mattress is 6 inches of Dunlop latex. This makes the mattress slightly bouncy, but not as responsive as traditional innerspring mattresses. On either side of the core is 1 ½ inches of additional latex with each side having a different firmness. One side is considered firm, ranking a 7 on the firmness scale of 1 to 10. The other side is rated as a medium-soft mattress coming in at a 4 on the scale.
The latex used in the Zenhaven has a breathable open cell structure, meaning it resists body heat instead of trapping heat like most memory foam mattresses.

Trial Period Details
Avocado offers a 365-night sleep trial for the Avocado Green mattress.
The sleep trial period for the Avocado mattress is 365 nights beginning the day the mattress was delivered. Avocado requires a 30-day break-in period for the mattress, after which customers are welcome to return the mattress anytime within the 365-night timeframe. If returned, Avocado will arrange for a service partner to deliver the mattress to a local charity or recycling center.
The full amount paid for the mattress will be refunded after Avocado determines the mattress was returned in good condition with photos of the mattress and proof of purchase. This 365-night sleep trial is only available for two Avocado mattresses per household.
Warranty
Avocado offers a 25-year limited warranty.
Within the first 10 years of ownership, Avocado will replace or repair a defective mattress at no charge to the owner. This warranty is void if the mattress is not removed from the box and decompressed within two weeks of mattress delivery. Mattresses left compressed for longer than this period may suffer structural defects.
During years 11 to 25, the warranty is prorated and the owner is responsible for shipping and transportation costs. The cost for replacement is calculated by a 5 percent increase each year of ownership. For example if the mattress becomes detective during the 11th year, the owner will pay 50 percent of the original price for a new mattress. During year 12, it increases to 55 percent.
After year 21, the mattress owner will be charged 95 percent of the original mattress price. If the model is no longer available, Avocado will replace the mattress with the most comparable model in their current product line.

Visible sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure at least 1 inch deep, and are not the direct result of owner misuse or improper foundational support.

Warranty
The Zenhaven comes with a lifetime warranty. For the first two years, Zenhaven mattresses are fully covered under the warranty and eligible for replacement with a new mattress at no cost to the owner. After two years, Zenhaven will repair and recover a defective mattress at the cost of $149. The mattress must have been used for the intended purposes and on a structural support. Zenhaven deems a mattress defective with body indentations of 0.75 inch or deeper.

Under this plan, instead of sending their defective mattress away for repairs, the owner keeps it and Zenhaven will deliver and install a new mattress at a specified price. The mattress typically arrives 7-15 days after ordering. Once the mattress is ready for shipping, Zenhaven will contact the customer to arrange a convenient shipping date. On the agreed upon date, customers will be given a four-hour delivery window.
