Who is Brooklinen?
Brooklinen is a brand that combines the concept of luxury with everyday affordability. The company places emphasis on high-quality goods at a fair price.
Brooklinen’s name is a play on Brooklyn, New York, the city where couple Rich and Vicki Fulop first launched the company. The co-founders took a unique approach to marketing their bedding. The duo didn’t want to relate to potential customers based on textile industry expertise or experience. Instead, they consider themselves to be no different from their customers: people who want to buy very comfortable sheets without overpaying.
The Brooklinen brand philosophy is largely inspired by the Fulop’s attempt to buy a set of sheets from a hotel they stayed at. The hotel was willing to sell the couple the sheets, but with a hefty $800 price tag, way outside the couple’s budget. The situation made the Fulops think about how nice it would be for trendy Millennials like themselves to have access to luxurious bedding at a reasonable price.
In 2014, the Fulops launched a Kickstarter for Brooklinen. At the time, they hoped to raise $50,000 to make their startup dream a reality. The response was both positive and immediate; the Kickstarter fund eventually raised $236,000. Within a few years, Brooklinen grew from a humble bedding startup into a $30 million company.
Brooklinen, which employs approximately 40 people, believes its high-quality products and hard-to-beat pricing will only continue to make it even more competitive in the years ahead.
A Look at Their Products
Brooklinen differs from many bedding brands in that its products are offered exclusively online. The company sells a variety of bed sheets, blankets, pillows, and comforters. Additionally, Brooklinen has a “Brooklittle” line of products dedicated to providing high-quality bedding for infants and young children.
Aside from bedroom products, you can buy home goods for the bathroom, including plush towels, bath sheets, washcloths, and bath mats. The “Bedcetera” page has accessories that will help you get the most out of Brooklinen’s bedroom and bathroom products. These items include soy candles, silk eye masks and pillowcases.
Brooklinen offers its own eco-friendly “Laundress” line of fabric care products to help customers keep their bedding clean without a reliance on harsh, toxic cleaning solutions.

Everything Else You Need To Know About Brooklinen Sheets
Below we’ve included additional information that you need to know before deciding which Brooklinen sheet set is best for your bedding needs.
Sizing and Pricing
Brooklinen’s sheet core sets are priced for a pair of pillowcases, one fitted sheet, and one flat or top sheet. Brooklinen’s starter sets are priced slightly cheaper and are great for buyers who’d prefer to sleep without a flat sheet. If you don’t need an entire set, you can buy items like pillowcases and fitted sheets separately. With proper care, Brooklinen sheets can get softer and more comfortable over time. You’ll get the best possible use out of these sheets by following Brooklinen’s helpful cleaning tips. Some common recommendations for care include:
- Remembering to change your sheets weekly; if possible you should switch between sheet sets as a way to preserve their overall quality.
- Machine wash your sheets on a cool or warm setting.
- Line dry your sheets to preserve sheet fibers, colors, and elasticity.
- If you’d prefer to machine dry the sheets, make sure you use a low heat and low tumble setting.
Brooklinen sells its own signature laundry detergent called Laundress. It’s a completely plant-based detergent that’s non-toxic and 100 percent biodegradable. Laundress is considerably gentler than many other cleaning solutions and will help preserve the overall quality of your Brooklinen bedding.
