The Somnox Sleep Robot has three distinct features that assist in providing a soothing sleep experience to the user.
Breathing regulation: Breathing exercises can be a useful tool for some who struggle to fall asleep. Breathing techniques bring the body into a relaxed and calm state. Focusing on breathing can help quiet the mind of racing thoughts that promote stress and anxiety which can interfere with falling asleep and having restorative, quality sleep. The Somnox Sleep Robot moves as if it were inhaling and exhaling. The sleeper mimics the breathing pattern of the robot. In the app, the user can select from numerous breathing rhythms or they may customize their own. It’s possible for the sleeper to customize a breathing pattern to that of a loved one which many users say is calming especially while sleeping alone.
Audio: The Somnox Sleep Robot contains a speaker that can play relaxing sounds to lull the user to sleep. Users may select from several preloaded options within the app or they may upload their own. Meditative tracks, lullabies, white noise, and the sound of a heartbeat are all options within the app. Users select the duration of the audio in the app, as well. Simple volume controls are on the bottom of the sleep robot near the power button. Users who prefer a silent room can choose to not enable any audio.
Comfort: The shape of the Somnox Sleep Robot is designed to be optimal for spooning. Similar to a sleep tracker, the robot contains sensors that measure the sleeper’s heart rate and breathing. Both of those are located on the convex side of the sleep robot so those will be most efficient when the robot is hugged.
The robot is covered with a thin foam layer so it feels similar to a heavy stuffed animal. The removable outer cover is a soft 100 percent cotton fabric.
