What You Need to Know about Sleep EZ Mattresses

Mattress Type and Components: Sleep EZ offers latex mattresses. Four individual models are currently available.

  • The Select Sleep Mattress is customizable in terms of thickness, firmness, and composition.
    • Models are available in 7″, 9″, 10″, and 13″ profiles. Depending on the thickness, they may contain two, three, or four latex layers.
    • Four firmness options are available for each latex layer: Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm. Dual firmness is also offered for sizes Queen and larger.
    • Two composition customizations are available. The ‘Lifetime Dreams‘ option features a natural cotton and Joma wool cover, and a blended Talalay top latex layer. The ‘Organic Latex‘ option features an organic-cotton and eco-wool cover, and a natural Talalay top latex layer. For both options, the remaining one to three layers are made of natural Dunlop latex. Both options follow the same pricing structure.
  • The Roma Latex Mattress is a flippable mattress model. Each side features an organic-cotton cover quilted to a foam layer, and the shared support core is made of natural Dunlop latex.
  • The Luxerion Natural Latex Hybrid features a comfort system with a four-way-stretch cover and a layer of natural Dunlop latex. The support core is constructed from high-density polyfoam. Please note that this mattress is not considered a ‘true hybrid’ because it contains foam — not pocketed coils — in the support core.
  • The Ultra King mattress consists of three layers of natural Talalay latex that are customizable for firmness; dual firmness is also available. This mattress measures 84″ wide and 96″ long, making it significantly larger than a standard King or California King.

Pros:

  • Customizable firmness, thickness, and composition options
  • Longer-than-average lifespan
  • No noise
  • Free shipping in contiguous U.S.
  • A+ rating from BBB

Cons:

  • Weak edge support
  • Heavy and difficult to move
  • $99 fee for all returns
  • Low-profile mattresses too thin for some

Product and Price Range: Sleep EZ mattresses are available in a total of eight sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Split King, California King, and Split California King.  Some mattresses are not available in all eight sizes.Additionally, the Ultra King is exclusively available in the Ultra King size (which is larger than a standard King/California King). Prices vary by selected model and size; a full cost breakdown is found in the ‘Pricing and Delivery Details’ section. All Sleep EZ mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Sleep EZ Customer Satisfaction Rating Comparison

Sleep EZ Mattress Sleep Ratings

Please note that we have not gathered enough data to generate ratings for the Luxerion Natural Latex Hybrid or Ultra King mattresses. We will update this section as soon we receive sufficient feedback.

Category Criteria Sleep EZ Rating What Sleep EZ Users Say
Customer Satisfaction Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding Sleep EZ mattresses. 77% (Roma)
80% (Select Sleep)
The latex mattresses from Sleep EZ have earned above-average customer satisfaction ratings compared to other latex models.
Durability Latex mattresses have longer-than-average lifespans compared to other model types (such as foam and innerspring), and will typically perform for at least seven years. Very Good (all models) According to owners, the Select Sleep and Roma mattresses perform with minimal sagging for at least seven years.
Motion Isolation Most latex mattresses effectively minimize and isolate motion transfer, which can cut down on nighttime disruptions. Good (other models)
Fair (Roma)
The Roma has a thinner comfort system that does not absorb much transfer, but Select Sleep models that are 10″ or thicker isolate motion to a noticeable degree
Sex Bouncier, more responsive beds (such as innersprings and hybrids) tend to be more responsive — and thus, better for sex — than less responsive latex mattress models. Good (Select Sleep)
Fair (Roma)
The Roma is not particularly responsive and may not be bouncy enough for some couples. Select Sleep models with firmer latex layers may be more suitable for sex.
Conforming Latex mattresses are designed to conform closely to the sleeper’s body for targeted pressure relief, but most foam mattress owners say pressure relief is higher. Very Good (Select Sleep)
Fair (Roma)
The Roma’s comfort layer does not conform very closely. Because the Select Sleep offers customizable firmness, most sleepers can create optimal conforming for the bed based on their weight and sleep position.
Temperature Neutrality Latex mattresses may retain a relatively high amount of a sleeper’s body heat, causing the mattress to ‘sleep warm’ as a result. Good (all models) Latex can be a heat trap for some, but Sleep EZ owners say their mattress retains minimal body heat and sleeps fairly cool.
Off-gassing Some mattresses emit particles when they are unpackaged, accompanied by unpleasant ‘off-gassing’ smells that can last for days. Good (all models) Sleep EZ mattresses may emit a rubbery odor when new, but owners say these smells are neither excessively strong nor persistent.
Edge Support Latex mattresses typically have poor edge support, and may prematurely sink where people usually sit. Poor As is the case with most latex mattresses, Sleep EZ models provide little to no edge support.
Noise All-latex mattresses tend to produce little to noise, making them a quieter option compared to mattresses with springs and other internal components. Excellent (all models) The Select Sleep and Roma mattresses are all virtually silent when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and Rotating All mattresses are relatively heavy, but some can be more unwieldy and difficult to move and rotate than others. Poor (all models) Select Sleep mattresses weigh up to 150 pounds (depending on the layer specifications), and the Roma weighs 120 pounds in a Queen size. These are all heavy, even by latex mattress standards.
