General Overview

  • Sealy offers a wide range of mattresses varying in terms of size, height, and firmness rating in order to accommodate a wider range of customers.
  • Sealy mattresses are widely available at brick-and-mortar locations across the country.

Cons

  • With the exception of the Essentials Collection, Sealy memory foam mattresses have an above-average price-point compared to similar models.
  • Sealy offers five to 10 years of nonprorated warranty coverage at most, which is below-average; most mattress sellers offer at least 10 years of nonprorated warranty coverage.

Sealy offers memory foam mattresses in the company’s Conform Line as part of three exclusive collections.

  • Mattresses in the Essentials Collection are designed with a comfort layer made of Sealy ComfortSense memory foam and a support core made of SealySupport Gel polyfoam.
  • Mattresses in the Performance Collection feature comfort layers with two key components: a top layer of Sealy Chill Gel Memory Foam and a bottom layer of ComfortSense memory foam foam. The support core is constructed from SealySupport Gel polyfoam.
  • The Premium Collection, like the Performance Collection, is designed with Sealy Chill Gel Memory Foam and ComfortSense memory foam in the comfort layer, and SealySupport Gel polyfoam in the support core.
  • All three collections include covers made of Ultra-Stretch ComfortLoft fabric.

Please note: Sealy also manufactures innerspring mattresses. To learn more about these products, visit our Sealy Innerspring Mattress Review page.

What Type of Sleeper is Best Suited to a Sealy Memory Foam Mattress?

At this time, Tuck.com has not received enough customer feedback to accurately evaluate Sealy’s Conform Line mattresses based on sleep position and sleeper weight. We will update this section as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please note that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress. For more information on sleeping positions please see our guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

The following table lists our average grades for memory foam mattresses based on different sleeper positions and weights.

Sleep Trial and Warranty

  • Trial Period and Guarantee

Trial Period and Guarantee: Sealy mattresses are available through third-party retailers. For this reason, customers should defer to the sleep trial and return policy of the brick-and-mortar location where they purchase their mattress.

  • Warranty Details

Warranty: Sealy offers a 10-year warranty for all mattresses.

    1. Warranty coverage begins on the date of original purchase. Two types of warranty coverage are available for Sealy memory foam mattresses:
      • Products with the 10/10 label will receive nonprorated coverage for the entire duration of the 10-year warranty. This means owners will not have to pay additional charges for replacing a defective mattress. However, they will be responsible for shipping and transportation fees; these fees will never exceed standard freight charges.
      • Products with the 5/10 label will receive nonprorated coverage for the five years. From years five to 10, owners will pay a prorated charge to replace their defective mattress. This charge is calculated by multiplying the original mattress price and the number of years the mattress has been owned, and then dividing that product by 10. For instance, a mattress priced at $600 that has been owned for seven years will result in a prorated charge of $420 during that entire coverage year.
    2. If a mattress has been discontinued, Sealy will use the most comparable mattress in their current line to calculate the prorated charge.
    3. Replacement mattresses will be protected under the same warranty as the original model. Owners who wish to upgrade will pay the difference in price between the original mattress and the upgrade model.
    4. Sealy mattresses are designed for use with certain types of foundational support. A queen- or king-size mattress must be supported with a bed frame that has a ‘rigid bridge bar with a supporting leg’ and at least five legs or at least five ‘equally spaced hardwood slats’. Sealy will void the warranty if the mattress is used with an inadequate support system, or if the mattress is found to be in unsanitary condition.
    5. Floor or demo models are not eligible for warranty coverage.
    6. The warranty will cover the following mattress defects:
      • Visible indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that measure three-quarters of an inch (3/4″) or deeper.
    7. The warranty will not cover the following:
      • Indentations or sagging that do not measure three-quarters of an inch (3/4″) or deeper. This is considered standard wear and tear.
      • Repair or replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
      • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
    8. Warranty coverage is exclusively extended to original owners who buy their mattress directly from Sealy or an authorized Sealy retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or an unauthorized Sealy retailer will do so ‘as is’, and will not qualify for warranty coverage. Amazon.com customers will be eligible for a three-year limited warranty offered through that website.
