What You Need to Know about the Reverie Mattress

Mattress Type and Components: Reverie offers latex hybrid and foam-and-latex hybrid mattresses. Reverie hybrids utilize natural latex springs, rather than metal springs; this system is referred to as the ‘DreamCell’ system, and is reconfigurable in most models. Four mattresses are currently available from Reverie:

  • The Dream Hybrid II mattress has a comfort system with a top layer of memory foam and a bottom layer of Talalay latex. The non-reconfigurable DreamCell support core measures six inches (6″) thick, and the cover is woven and removable.
  • The Dream Supreme I Natural mattress has a single-layer latex comfort system and a reconfigurable DreamCell support core measuring six inches (6″) thick. The moisture-wicking cover is made from an undisclosed fabric.
  • The Dream Supreme II Natural mattress has a graphite-infused Talalay comfort system and a reconfigurable DreamCell support core measuring six inches (6″) thick. The cover is a woven cashmere blend.
  • The Dream Supreme II Hybrid mattress has a comfort system with a top layer of graphite-infused Talalay latex and a bottom layer of memory foam. The reconfigurable DreamCell support core measures six inches (6″) thick, and the cover is a woven cashmere blend.
  • Please note: all four Reverie mattresses are available in three firmness settings (Medium Soft, Medium Firm, and Firm) based on the DreamCell configuration, and all sizes Queen and larger are offered with dual firmness.

Pros:

  • Multiple design and firmness options, including dual firmness
  • Support core can be reconfigured for most models
  • Little to no noise
  • Free White Glove delivery in contiguous U.S.

Cons:

  • Significantly above-average price-points
  • No returns accepted

Product and Price Range: Reverie mattresses are available in four standard sizes: Twin XL, Queen, King, and California King. Additionally, all four Reverie mattresses are available in Split King and Split California King sizes, which are completely divided down the middle; with the exception of Dream Hybrid II, the mattresses are also available in Dream Top King and Dream Top California sizes, which are notched at the head but not split. Prices vary by selected model and size; a complete size-by-size cost breakdown is found in the ‘Pricing and Delivery Details’ section. Reverie mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Reverie Customer Satisfaction Rating Comparison

Reverie Mattress Sleep Ratings

Category Criteria Reverie Rating What Reverie Users Say
Customer Satisfaction Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding Reverie mattresses. 77% (Dream Hybrid II)
78% (Dream Supreme I Natural)
79% (Dream Supreme II Natural and Dream Supreme II Hybrid)
All four Reverie hybrids have earned customer satisfaction ratings that are above-average compared to the rating for all hybrids (71%).
Durability Hybrid mattresses tend to degrade faster due to low-grade polyfoam used in the support core. The average lifespan is roughly six years. Good (all models) Durability for Reverie hybrids appears to be good, with an average lifespan of at least five years, but the mattresses have not been sold long enough to project an overall lifespan.
Motion Isolation Hybrid mattresses generally do not absorb and isolate motion transfer to the same extent as foam or latex models. Good (Dream Hybrid I)
Very Good (all other models)
The Dream Hybrid I absorbs and isolates motion to some extent, but the other three Reverie hybrids isolate a significantly higher amount of transfer.
Sex Most hybrids are responsive and bouncy enough for sex, but excessively soft models may not be sufficient for some couples. Very Good (all models) The four Reverie hybrids are fairly responsive, and should be bouncy enough for most couples.
Conforming Most hybrids do not conform very closely compared to foam or latex models, and owners report lower levels of pain and pressure relief. Good (Dream Hybrid II)
Very Good (all other models)
Reverie hybrids conform closely due to their thick foam and latex comfort layers, and customers report adequate pressure relief; multiple firmness options ensure sleepers with different preferences are accommodated.
Temperature Neutrality Hybrid mattresses tend to retain low amounts of body heat and sleep fairly cool as a result. Good (all models) Despite thick foam and latex layers, the Reverie hybrids all sleep fairly cool.
Off-gassing Off-gassing may occur in hybrids, but these models tend to produce less odor than those made exclusively of foam. Good (all models) Some Reverie owners report off-gassing smells when the mattress is new, but odors usually dissipate within a couple of days.
Edge Support Hybrids usually provide more edge support than memory foam and latex mattresses, and are usually on par with traditional innersprings. Good (all models) Edge support is good for the Reverie hybrids, but hybrid models with metal springs tend to be sturdier and less susceptible to sinkage.
Noise Hybrids tend to produce more noise than latex or foam mattresses, primarily due to the spring and coil components of the support core. Very Good (all models) Because the DreamCell springs are made of latex, the Reverie produces little to no noise when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and Rotating All mattresses are relatively heavy but some weigh much more than others, and this can make them difficult to move and maneuver. Good (all models) The Reverie hybrids are lighter and easier to move than other hybrids (largely due to the latex springs).

Warranty: Reverie offers a 10-year limited warranty for all seven mattresses currently listed on the company’s website.

  2. Reverie will cover costs for mattress repairs and replacements, but the customer will be responsible for all transportation and handling charges.
  3. Replacement of the original mattress will not extend the initial warranty coverage or result in the creation of a new warranty.
  4. Reverie mattresses are designed for use with a ‘firm, solid surface consisting of a proper non- spring foundation or adjustable bed base, which must in turn be properly supported by legs on an even, strong, and flat surface’. Use of an Improper foundation will void the warranty.
  5. The warranty will cover the following product defects:
    • Visible indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that measure three-quarters of an inch (3/4″) or deeper.
    • Physical flaws in the mattress that cause foams or latex to split or crack despite proper foundational support.
  6. The warranty will not cover the following:
    • A normal increase in mattress softness that does not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that do not measure deeper than three-quarters of an inch (3/4″). These issues are considered normal wear and tear.
    • Repair or replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
  7. This warranty is exclusively extended to original owners who purchase their mattress directly from Reverie or an authorized company retailer. Anyone who buys or acquires their mattress from the original owner or an unauthorized retailer will not be entitled to warranty coverage.
