Serta offers memory foam mattresses that are currently available in two mattress series.
The Perfect Sleeper series features two memory foam mattresses. These mattresses share similar compositions in terms of the comfort layer and support core, and vary by height and firmness rating.
The Caledonian Plush features a comfort layer with a top layer of gel memory foam and a bottom layer of polyfoam. The support core is constructed from polyfoam.
The Molenda Luxe Firm has a comfort system with a top layer of gel memory foam and a bottom layer of polyfoam. The support core is made of polyfoam, as well.
The iComfort series features a total of seven memory foam mattresses that are currently manufactured, and sold both online and in stores. All seven models feature polyfoam support cores measuring between six inches (6″) and seven inches (7″) in height; they vary in terms of comfort system components, firmness rating, and overall height. These models are described below (ordered by price-point from highest to lowest):
The Blue Max 5000 Elite Luxury Firm features four components in the comfort layer: a top layer of gel memory foam; a second layer of standard memory foam; a third layer of polyfoam; and a fourth layer of air foam.
The Blue Max 3000 Elite Plush features top and third layers of gel memory foam surrounding a second layer of standard memory foam. The comfort system also has a fourth layer of polyfoam and a fifth layer of air foam.
The Blue Max 1000 Cushion Firm features five components in the comfort layer: a top layer of gel memory foam; a second layer of standard memory foam; a third layer of polyfoam; a fourth layer of gel memory foam; and a fifth layer of polyfoam.
The Blue Max 1000 Plush features a comfort system with a top layer of gel memory foam, a middle layer of standard memory foam, and a bottom layer of polyfoam.
The Blue 500 Plush has a comfort system with two top layers of gel memory foam and a bottom layer of standard memory foam.
The Blue 300 Firm features two top layers of gel memory foam, followed by a third layer of polyfoam and a standard memory foam bottom layer.
The Blue 100 Gentle Firm has a comfort system with two gel memory foam top layers and a polyfoam bottom layer.
Additionally, the iComfort series features eight memory foam models that are no longer manufactured; although they are still sold in select retail locations, they will only be available as long as supplies last. Prices for each model listed below will vary by location. Due to their outgoing status and limited availability, these mattresses have not been included in our mattress ratings.

Memory foam mattresses in the Perfect Sleeper and iComfort series have been touted for above-average edge support, motion isolation, and noise reduction.
Serta is considered the largest mattress manufacturer in the United States, and the company offers a wide selection of memory foam models (in different firmness ratings) to accommodate different sleeper preferences.
White Glove delivery — which includes in-home assembly and old mattress removal — is offered free-of-charge for all online orders.
Serta mattresses are available for purchase at brick-and-mortar showrooms and retail stores across the country, giving customers plenty of locations to test them out in person.
Cons
Customers have criticized Perfect Sleeper and iComfort memory foam mattresses for below-average longevity and high heat retention.
Purchasers who buy from Serta.com and choose to return their mattress must cover a return fee that amounts to 15% of the original product price, as well as a $200 shipping and handling charge. This is costlier than the return procedure for most competing mattress sellers. However when purchased from a mattress retailer, return policies/fees vary.
While both memory foam mattresses in the Perfect Sleeper series have below-average price-points compared to average memory foam models, those belonging to the iComfort collection are significantly more expensive.
What Type of Sleeper is Best Suited to a Serta Mattress?
Based on our customer feedback, iComfort memory foam mattresses from Serta received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions; we have not received enough data to generate grades for Perfect Sleeper memory foam models.

How Is the Mattress Shipped?
Serta memory foam mattresses are wrapped in plastic and shipped uncompressed.
Where Do They Ship?
Serta will ship mattresses to any address in the continental United States. Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international destinations are not available at this time.

White Glove delivery is offered free-of-charge for all orders in the contiguous 48 states.

Delivery Policy: The delivery policy for Serta mattresses is as follows:
Not all Serta mattresses listed in this review are available for online purchase and delivery. Select models are exclusively available at brick-and-mortar locations. Availability details are included on the individual product pages.
Customers will receive an ‘automated pre-call contact’ within 24 hours of placing their mattress order. Delivery agents will then work with customers to arrange a suitable delivery time. Most mattresses are delivered within seven to 10 business days of the original order; delivery agents will arrange for the mattress to be dropped off within a four-hour window period. Deliveries occur between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, as well limited Saturday deliveries.
Purchasers must be home at the time of their mattress delivery.
White Glove personnel restrict their deliveries to two flights of stairs or less. Purchasers who do not meet this criteria should contact Serta to coordinate a suitable delivery plan.
Customers may order out-of-stock items, but the wait time will extend to at least 10 business days; all out-of-stock orders will receive a notification once the item has been purchased.
Old Mattress Removal?
Old mattress removal is offered as part of Serta’s complimentary White Glove delivery service.
Trial Period and Warranty Details
Trial Period and Guarantee: Serta offers a 120-night sleep trial for all iComfort mattresses and a 45-night sleep trial for all Perfect Sleeper mattresses.
Both the 120-night and 45-night sleep trials have mandatory 30-night break-in periods. This means that customers must test out the mattress for at least 30 nights before they will be eligible to exchange it or return it for a refund.
Customers who choose to return their mattress after 30 nights have elapsed will receive a partial refund, minus a return and disposal fee that amounts to 15% of the original product price and a $200 shipping and handling fee.
Those who opt to exchange their mattress after 30 nights will be responsible for shipping charges associated with the new mattress delivery.
Each customer is limited to one sleep trial.
Serta will not accept damaged mattresses for return.
Warranty: Serta offers a 10-year warranty for all Perfect Sleeper and iComfort memory foam mattresses.
Serta will, at its sole option, choose to repair or replace all mattresses that are deemed defective. If a product needing replacement has been discontinued, then Serta will replace it with the most comparable current model.
Warranty coverage begins on the original date of purchase.
All Serta memory foam mattresses are designed for use with an ‘appropriate frame with center support or a minimum of 5 cross slats with center support that extends to the floor’. Use of an improper foundation may lead to damage that will void warranty coverage.
The warranty will cover the following product defects:
Visible indentations or sagging in the top surface that measure three-quarters of one and a half inches (1 1/2″).
Manufacturing flaws related to the cover construction, including cracked or broken zippers.
The warranty will not cover the following:
Costs related to transportation and inspection of potentially defective mattresses.
Normal changes in foam softness that do not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or visible indentations or sagging that do not measure more than one and a half inches (1 1/2″). These issues are all considered standard wear and tear.
Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper handling or cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
Requests for repairs or replacements that occur due to poor sheet fit, incorrect bed height, and/or owner comfort preferences.
Serta reserves the right to deny warranty claims for mattresses that are soiled, mold-infested, or otherwise considered unsanitary.
Warranty coverage is exclusively reserved for original purchasers who buy their mattress from Serta or an authorized Serta retailer. Those who buy or acquire their Serta mattress from the original owner or an unauthorized retailer will not be eligible for warranty coverage.

The name was changed to Serta International, and the company was controlled and operated by National Bedding Company until 2005 when it was purchased by the Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund and Teachers’ Private Capital. Serta is considered the largest mattress seller in the United States.
