The Bottom Line.

  • Naturepedic offers customizable latex and hybrid mattresses — available in four firmness settings as well as dual-firmness options.
  • Eco-conscious beds made from natural and organic materials.
  • Naturepedic mattress covers are made from organic wool, alpaca hair, cashmere, and other breathable, luxury materials.

Overview

Overview

Naturepedic offers latex and hybrid mattresses. A total of eight different mattress models are listed in the company’s current lineup:

The Chorus mattress has a comfort system featuring a top layer of organic wool batting, followed by a middle layer of plant-based PLA material and a layer of minicoils on the bottom. The support core is constructed with pocketed coils wrapped in polyester, and the cover is made of organic cotton.

The Essentials mattress is designed with layers of organic wool batting, plant-based PLA material, and organic latex in the comfort system. The support core features pocketed coils wrapped in polyester, and the cover is made of organic cotton. This model is available in five different firmness settings.

The  EOS Series features three customizable mattress models:

  • The EOS Classic features a comfort layer with organic latex, organic wool batting, and plant-based PLA material. The support core is constructed from pocketed coils, and the cover is made of organic cotton. Purchasers can choose from four different firmness ratings; Queen- and King-size mattresses may be customized with two different firmness ratings to accommodate couples that share the mattress. Buyers can also include minicoils instead of organic latex in the comfort system; three firmness ratings are available for this option.
  • The EOS Trilux features three layers of organic latex; the comfort layer also has layers of organic wool batting and plant-based PLA material. Purchasers can customize the firmness for all three layers; couples can also customize both sides of the bed for Queen- and King-size models.
  • The EOS Pillow Top features two layers of organic latex in the comfort system, along with additional layers of organic wool batting and plant-based PLA material. The support core is designed with pocketed coils. Purchasers can customize the firmness rating of both latex layers; dual firmness is available for Queen- and King-size models, as well. Purchasers may swap out both latex layers for minicoil layers of varying firmnesses; this option includes three possible firmness ratings.

The Luxury Series includes three customizable mattress models:

  • The Quartet mattress can be made with either latex or minicoils in the comfort system; owners can also customize the firmness rating of either layer, and dual firmness is available for Queen- and King-size models. The support core features pocketed coils wrapped in organic cotton, and the cover is woven from a blend of organic wool, alpaca hair, and cashmere.
  • The Concerto mattress may be built with either two layers of organic latex or two minicoil layers in the comfort system. Purchasers can swap out these components, and may also customize the firmness of both latex layers or request dual firmness for Queen- and King-sizes. The support core features pocketed coils wrapped in organic cotton, and the cover is made of a blend of organic wool, alpaca hair, and cashmere.
  • The Symphony mattress is designed with an organic latex and organic cotton overlay built separately from the rest of the mattress; owners can customize the feel by swapping in an overlay with a different firmness ratings. The support core is constructed with pocketed coils wrapped in organic cotton, followed by a base layer of organic latex. The cover is made of organic wool, alpaca hair, and cashmere.

General Overview

  • Naturepedic’s hybrid mattresses are responsive enough for sex and offer above-average edge support.
  • The EOS Trilux, Naturepedic’s latex mattress, conforms closely to relieve pressure points, effectively isolates motion, and makes little to no noise.
  • Naturepedic mattresses are constructed using natural and certified organic materials, making them green bedding choices for eco-conscious shoppers.
  • Naturepedic offers an extensive selection of latex and hybrid mattresses, and most models are available in multiple firmness settings to accommodate a wide range of sleeper preferences.
  • Customers can choose from multiple delivery options ranging from curbside delivery to in-home assembly and old mattress removal.

Cons

  • Most Naturepedic mattresses have significantly above-average price-points compared to other latex and hybrid models.
  • The 120-night sleep trial associated with Luxury Series mattresses has a mandatory break-in period of at least 60 nights. Furthermore, customers may only apply 50% of the original product price to cover the cost of a replacement. By comparison, many competing mattress manufacturers have break-in periods of up to 30 nights, and will issue a full refund or exchange credit for dissatisfied customers.
  • All Naturepedic warranties (including 10-year warranties) are partially prorated. Given the high price-point of Naturepedic mattresses, this could result in significant charges for repairing or replacing defective mattresses during the prorated period.

Delivery Policy: The delivery policy for Naturepedic is as follows:

    1. All standard deliveries are coordinated through FedEx. Customers living in eastern and central states typically receive their mattress within two to three business days; those in western states usually receive their mattress within four to five business days.
    2. The following delivery options are available:
      • Curbside delivery: This is considered standard shipping. Delivery personnel will contact the customer to notify them of a general delivery time, and will leave the mattress on the curb outside their home. This is not recommended for heavier mattresses.
      • Threshold delivery: Delivery personnel will arrange a delivery time with customers, and then drop off the mattress at the first doorway; personnel will not bring the mattress further into the customer’s house or apartment. Customers will be required to sign for their mattress. This option is generally recommended for mattresses that are too heavy for curbside delivery.
      • In-home assembly: Delivery personnel will unpack the mattress in the customer’s home, assemble it, and remove all packaging waste. For an additional fee, they will remove the customer’s old mattress and transport it to either a recycling facility or a charity donation center.
    3. Naturepedic will replace damaged mattresses at no extra charge to the purchaser. If a mattress is damaged prior to threshold delivery or in-home assembly, customers must either refuse the delivery (if damage is severe) or mark the mattress as damaged on the delivery receipt. Naturepedic must be notified within 72 hours after a purchaser files a damage claim.
    4. Prior to delivery, customers must ensure their mattress will fit and can be moved. If delivery personnel cannot properly deliver the mattress (per the customer’s delivery option), then the mattress will be shipped back to Naturepedic and customers will be responsible for all shipping and handling charges.
    5. Orders cannot be cancelled after the mattress has shipped without incurring additional charges. Customers who refuse their delivery for reasons other than physical damage will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with the initial delivery and shipping the mattress back to Naturepedic.
    6. Naturepedic cannot deliver mattresses to Air/Army Post Offices (APOs), Fleet Post Offices (FPOs), or P.O. boxes.
  • Old Mattress Removal?

Old mattress removal is available for an extra charge as part of Naturepedic’s in-home assembly option; this service is not offered for standard curbside or threshold deliveries.

  • Trial Period & Warranty Details

Trial Period and Guarantee: The sleep trial and return policy for Naturepedic mattresses will vary by model.

    1. The Chorus mattress includes a 30-night sleep trial. Customers who elect to return their mattress within 30 nights will be responsible for all shipping and handling charges; the cost of returning a Chorus mattress is typically $400 or less.
    2. The EOS Series mattresses have a 90-night sleep trial. Customers who choose to return their mattress within 90 nights will be responsible for all shipping and handling charges. In addition to returns, EOS Series owners may also swap out one of the three-inch comfort layers for a replacement layer with a different firmness rating; this one-time ‘comfort exchange’ is also available for 90 nights after the original purchase date; customers must test out the mattress for at least 30 nights before they qualify for a comfort layer exchange. Customers send back their comfort layer using a prepaid shipping label; replacement layers will be sent as soon as Naturepedic receives the original materials.
    3. The Luxury Series also has a 90-night comfort exchange; customers can swap out a single comfort layer component for a replacement layer of a different firmness rating. Additionally, these models have a 120-night sleep trial that includes a 60-night break-in period. Customers must test out their mattress for at least 60 nights before they are able to exchange it. Those who decide to exchange their Luxury Series mattress may apply up to 50% of the original mattress price toward the cost of the replacement.
    4. Naturepedic does not currently provide any information about returns or exchanges for the Essentials mattress.
    5. Sleep trials are exclusively available to customers that have bought their mattress directly from Naturepedic; those who buy their Chorus from retailers should defer to that company’s exchange and return policies. The comfort exchange is offered to owners who buy their mattress from authorized retailers; they must provide a copy of their receipt with the original purchase date.

Warranty: Naturepedic offers variable warranty coverage for all current mattresses.

    1. The Chorus and Essentials mattresses are protected under a 10-year warranty.
      • The first five years of the warranty are nonprorated. Naturepedic will, at their sole option, repair or replace all defective mattresses. Customers will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with repairs or replacements.
      • The last five years of the warranty are prorated. During the sixth year, owners must pay 50% of the original mattress price for prorated charges; these will increase each year by 10% increments until the warranty has expired.
    2. The EOS Series and Luxury Series mattresses are protected under a 20-year warranty.
      • The first 10 years of the warranty are nonprorated. Naturepedic will, at their sole option, repair or replace all defective mattresses. Customers will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with repairs or replacements.
      • The last 10 years of the warranty are prorated. During the 11th year, owners must pay 50% of the original mattress price for prorated charges; these will increase each year by 5% increments until the warranty has expired.
    3. Warranty coverage for all Naturepedic mattresses begins on the date of original purchase.
    4. Naturepedic mattresses used in hotels, nursing homes, and other commercial settings will receive protection under a five-year nonprorated warranty.
    5. The warranty will cover the following product defects:
      • Visible indentations or sagging in the surface of a Chorus, EOS Series, or Luxury Series mattress that measure one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or deeper; please note that the Essentials warranty does not include verbiage about sagging or indentation depth requirements.
    6. The warranty will not cover the following:
      • Normal increases in mattress softness that do not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or vIsible indentations or sagging in the surface of a Chorus, EOS Series, or Luxury Series mattress that so not measure one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or deeper. These issues are considered normal wear and tear.
      • Repair or replacement requests that occur due to owner allergies or changes in the owner’s comfort preferences after 90 days (when the ‘comfort exchange’ option is no longer valid).
      • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
    7. Mattresses that are sold as demos or floor models do not qualify for warranty coverage.
    8. This warranty is exclusively extended to original owners who purchase their mattress directly from Naturepedic or an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer do so ‘as is’, and will not receive warranty protection.
