Duxiana Mattress Review

Written by Tuck Staff

Duxiana Mattress Review

The Bottom Line.

  • Luxury Duxiana hybrids allow you to adjust their firmness level with a system of ‘spring cassettes’.
  • Continuous-wire coils protect the edges from sinkage.
  • With an average price-point exceeding $4,000, Duxiana beds are a good option for mattress shoppers with larger budgets.

Quick Summary

Quick Summary

Duxiana offers hybrid mattresses. A total of four mattresses are listed in the company’s current lineup. All four share the same general construction, which consists of the following three components:

  • A removable latex ‘Xupport’ pad with a cotton encasement.
  • A zippered top layer containing six ‘spring cassettes’ with metallic coils. Two of the cassettes have a soft firmness rating, two are medium, and two are firm; mattress users can customize the feel of their mattress by moving the cassettes around the layer. This feature is called the ‘Pascal’ comfort system.
  • At least one layer of continuous-wire coils.

The four DUX mattress models from Duxiana vary from one another in terms of thickness/number of continuous-wire coil layers, as well as price-point. They are listed below (ranked by price from highest to lowest).

  • The DUX 1001 is constructed with one layer of continuous-wire coils beneath the Pascal comfort system. Coil counts range from 1,024 (Twin Short) to 2,244 (King).
  • The DUX 3003 features two layers of continuous-wire coils beneath the Pascal layer. Coil counts range from 1,680 (Twin) to 3,420 (King).
  • The DUX 6006 also features two layers of continuous-wire coils, but these layers are thicker than those found in the DUX 3003. Coil counts range from 2,112 (Twin Long) to 4,188 (King).
  • The DUX 8008 shares the same thickness and layer dimensions as the DUX 6006, but also includes adjustable levers at the base to customize lumbar support on both sides of the mattress. Coil counts range from 2,112 (Twin Long) to 4,188 (King).

General Overview

  • Duxiana mattresses are designed to alleviate bodily pressure, and feature a reconfigurable ‘cassette’ comfort system that allows sleepers to customize the firmness settings. As a result, these models are considered better for back pain that most other innersprings.
  • Duxiana owners claim the mattresses have strong edge support and are responsive enough for sex.

Cons

  • The price-points for Duxiana mattresses are significantly above-average; customers should expect to pay at least $4,000 for anything larger than a Twin-size model.
  • Duxiana operates fewer than 25 stores in North America and does not offer online purchasing or home delivery, which may make acquiring a mattress difficult for some U.S. shoppers.
  • Duxiana allows customers to return their mattress within 30 nights of the original purchase, but those who do so will incur a 20% return fee. Comparatively, most mattress manufacturers offer a sleep trial of at least 60 nights, and those who return their mattress within the trial period will receive a full or close-to-full refund.
  • The 20-year warranty only includes five years of nonprorated coverage. By comparison, most mattress manufacturers offer at least 10 years of nonprorated coverage as part of their warranty agreement.

Duxiana mattresses are sold exclusively at their brick-and-mortar locations.
