Full Shipping Details
The delivery policy for BedInABox is as follows:
- Purchase orders are normally processed and shipped within two business days.
- Expected delivery times within the contiguous U.S. are 1 to 4 business days. For addresses in Alaska, Hawaii, and certain areas of the U.S., the estimated delivery time is 5 to 7 business days.
- Orders that include multiple packages (such as a mattress and foundation) will almost always arrive together. In the event that one package arrives before the other(s), the remaining component(s) should arrive one day later.
- A signature is not required to receive the mattress package unless the customer lives in an apartment or condominium. At the carrier’s discretion, he/she may hold the package at the nearest shipping center or leave it on the customer’s doorstep.
- BedInABox ships mattresses to army post offices (APOs), but the weight limit for these deliveries is 70 lbs and shipping fees start at $100. Materials that cannot fit into the box will be shipped separately, and incur separate charges.
- In the event that their mattress is damaged during delivery, customers are encouraged to call the BedInABox Sleep Specialist department.
- Customers may cancel their order before it has shipped; as a general rule, they should contact BedInABox within 24 hours to ensure their request will be processed in time. If the mattress has already shipped, the customer will be able to refuse the mattress at their door but will be required to pay shipping charges and restocking fees. According to the BedInABox website, these fees can amount to 10% to 20% of the original mattress price.
- Customers who refuse a mattress that is in new condition with no damage will be issued a refund, but they will also be required to pay roundtrip shipping costs and restocking fees.
-
Old Mattress Removal?
Because private couriers handle BedInABox deliveries, the company does not offer old mattress removal.

Trial Period & Warranty Details
Trial Period and Guarantee
BedInABox offers a 120-night sleep trial for all mattress purchases.
- The sleep trial includes a mandatory 60-night break-in period. Customers may not return their mattress for a full refund until they have tested out the mattress for at least 60 nights.
- BedInABox will cover all shipping and handling fees associated with mattress returns, and customers will receive a full product refund if they choose to return their mattress after 60 nights.
- Per the BedInABox website: ‘Ordering the correct size, model, and thickness of a mattress is the responsibility of the customer‘. BedInABox will not accept returns for ‘incorrectly ordered mattresses.’ Customers can contact the BedInABox Sleep Specialist division for assistance in selecting a correctly sized mattress.
- BedInABox reserves the right to refuse sale to a mattress customer who has previously returned a mattress.
Warranty
BedInABox offers a 20-year warranty for all mattresses.
- The warranty is divided into nonprorated and prorated coverage periods.
- The first 5 years of warranty coverage are nonprorated, and BedInABox will replace or repair defective mattresses at no expense to the owner and covershipping and handling costs.
- Years 6 to 10 of the warranty are also nonprorated, but the owner must cover transportation and handling costs.
- Years 11 to 20 of the warranty are prorated. In the 11th year of warranty coverage, the owner will be able to replace the mattress at a cost of 50% of the original mattress price; the prorated charge will increase by 5% for each successive year, ending with a 95% prorated charge during the 20th year of coverage. The owner must cover transportation and handling costs, as well.
- BedInABox mattresses are designed to perform on ‘firm, solid-surface, non-spring’ foundations. The warranty will be voided if the owner supports his/her mattress with ‘unqualified foundations, box springs, adjustable bed bases, or bed frames’. If a warranty claim is filed, the purchaser may be asked for proof of proper foundation.
- The warranty will be voided if the mattress is not unpackaged within 30 days of delivery.
- The warranty will cover the following defects:
- Sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure one inch (1?) or deeper during the first five years, or one and quarter inch (1 1/4?) during years 6 through 20.
- The BedInABox mattress warranty will not cover the following:
- Sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that do not measure one inch (1?) or deeper during the first five years, or less than one and quarter inch (1 1/4?) during years 6 through 20.
- Expected increases in the softness of the memory foam, which are considered normal wear and tear.
- Replacements or repairs due to changes in the owner’s comfort preference.
- Burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage, stains, ‘abnormal soiling’ and other damages that do not occur during manufacturing or shipping.
- This warranty is exclusively available to the original purchaser who buys their mattress from BedInABox or an authorized retailer. Anyone who purchases or acquires the mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not receive warranty coverage.
