Sleep Position Ratings

The Casper Mattress

The Casper uses multiple foam layers to conform closely to sleepers, which helps align their spine and alleviates pressure points. Its ‘Medium’ firmness makes it a good option for sleepers in any weight group, though those who weigh 230 pounds or less tend to be most comfortable. It is also suitable for any sleep position, as well as combination sleeping.

The Leesa Mattress

The Leesa’a mixed foam construction offers a balance of cushioning and support that make the mattress comfortable for most sleepers regardless of their body weight or sleep position. It also sleeps fairly cool and is suitable for those who normally feel too hot on all-foam mattresses.

How Is the Casper Built?

The Casper has three comfort layers: top and bottom layers of polyfoam, and a middle layer of memory foam. The foams are firmer beneath the sleeper’s core and hips, and softer beneath their head, neck, shoulders, and legs. This creates a zoned feel that provides targeted pain and pressure relief to different areas of the body. The mattress is considered ‘Medium’ in terms of firmness, and also comes with a polyester cover.

The Casper’s support core is made from high-density polyfoam. The Casper is exceptionally light at 71 pounds in a queen size, making it fairly easy for most owners to move and rotate as needed. It also absorbs and minimizes motion transfer due to its all-foam construction, and produces no noise when bearing weight.

How Is the Leesa Built?

The Leesa has a comfort system that consists of two layers: a top layer of 3 PCF polyfoam with an indentation load deflection (ILD) of 13, giving it moderate firmness; and a bottom layer of 3 PCF memory foam with an ILD of 9, giving it a soft feel. The striped, woven cover is made of polyester and Lycra® spandex.

The Leesa’s support core is made from high-density 1.8 PCF polyfoam with an ILD of 32, giving it an exceptionally firm feel. The base layer is six inches thick, and reinforces the bed well to prevent sagging and maintain an even sleep surface. Like the Casper, the Leesa weighs 71 pounds in a queen size and is fairly easy to move and rotate.
