Casper vs Endy Mattress Overview
Casper vs Endy Mattress Overview
Casper is an American mattress and bedding accessory brand founded in 2014. The company’s flagship mattress, the Casper Original, features a three-part comfort system consisting of polyfoam and memory foam layers, along with a high-density polyfoam support core. The Casper Original scores a ‘Medium,’ or 5.5, on the 1-10 firmness scale.
Endy is a Canadian company founded in 2015 that specializes in affordable sleep products. The Endy Mattress is an all polyfoam bed constructed with a medium-density comfort layer and high-density transitional and support layers. The Endy Mattress scores a ‘Medium-Firm,’ or 6, on the 1-10 firmness scale.
Please note: Casper sells other mattress models in addition to their flagship bed. The Casper Hybrid is a version of the Casper Original that replaces the high-density foam with pocketed coil springs. These two models share a product page on Casper’s website. The company also offers the Casper Essential, a full memory foam mattress; and the Casper Wave, a combination memory foam and latex mattress.

Most new products emit chemical smells after being removed from packaging. Off-gassing odors are considered non-toxic, but can be quite unpleasant nonetheless.
The Casper may emit moderate off-gassing when new, but persistent odors should not be a major issue.

The Casper offers comfortable conforming and targeted pressure relief for most sleepers, particularly lighter side and back sleepers.

Temperature Neutrality
x
The temperature of a mattress throughout the night is affected by how much body heat is retained. Several factors affect temperature neutrality, including material composition, layer thickness, and dissipation of heat through airflow.
Casper mattresses absorb minimal body heat and sleep fairly cool compared to other memory foam mattresses.

Edge Support
x
The degree to which the perimeter of the mattress supports body weight. In some cases, mattresses may sink when weight is applied. This sinkage, often called “roll-off”, affects how closely you might sleep to the edge of the bed.
The Casper offers good edge support due to its thicker support core, but some sinkage around the perimeter is likely over time.

Noise
x
Certain mattresses – particularly those with coils – can be quite noisy when bearing weight. Others are nearly silent. Material composition is often the limiting factor for noise potential.
Casper mattresses are virtually silent when bearing weight.

Sex
x
Mattresses that are bouncier and more responsive tend to be better for sex, as they’re easier to change positions on. In contrast, unresponsive mattresses can cause couples to have trouble switching positions.
Our testing indicates that The Casper isn't particularly responsive or bouncy, given it's construction. This may make is insufficiently bouncy for some couples, but this is on par with other mixed-foam beds.

Sleep Position Ratings
Casper Mattress
We evaluated the Casper mattress among different body types and sleep positions. The Casper’s three-layer comfort system provides excellent pressure point relief and spinal alignment. The ‘Medium’ level firmness makes this mattress best suited for lightweight sleepers (less than 130 pounds) and average weight sleepers (130 to 230 pounds). The Casper’s ‘Medium’ firmness worked well for side, back, and combination sleepers. The mattress also provides superior motion isolation and is nearly silent, making the Casper an ideal choice for co-sleepers who are easily awoken by noise and movement throughout the night.
Endy Mattress
The slightly firmer Endy Mattress, which is rated ‘Medium-Firm,’ is more responsive and does not conform as closely as the softer memory foam of the Casper. As a result, this mattress is ideal for average weight sleepers (130 to 230 pounds) and works for back, side, and stomach sleep positions. However, the Endy Mattress may be a bit too firm for lightweight sleepers (less than 130 pounds) and a bit too soft for heavyweight sleepers (more than 230 pounds). As with the majority of all-foam mattresses, the Endy Mattress creates almost no noise during movement and offers exceptional motion isolation.

Mattress Construction
Next let’s take a look at how the Casper and Endy Mattress models are constructed. Below we list the firmness, thickness, weight, and composition specs for each mattress.
The Casper original all-foam mattress consists of a comfort layer on the sleep surface and a more firm support core below. The comfort system is designed with three distinct layers. The top and bottom layers consist of polyfoam with a middle layer of memory foam. These comfort layers provide a ‘Medium’ level of firmness that contours to your body while still offering support. A final layer of high-density polyfoam provides additional support and maintains an even sleep surface. The mattress also comes with a custom, soft polyester cover.
The Casper is 12 inches in height and weighs 71 pounds in a Queen size. This relatively lightweight design makes the mattress easy to maneuver. The Casper’s foam construction also provides several key advantages. This mattress is effective at isolating motion and nearly silent when bearing weight. The Casper’s top layer is made with a special open-cell polyfoam that’s highly breathable.
How Is the Endy Mattress Built?
The Endy is built with a top comfort layer of open-cell polyfoam that conforms moderately and is fairly breathable. A transitional layer of high-density polyfoam sits below the comfort layer to provide a buffer for sleepers and prevent significant sagging into the mattress. The support core is made up of a thicker layer of high-density polyfoam which stabilizes the mattress and provides an even base of support for the sleeper.
This construction gives the Endy a noticeably more firm ‘Medium-Firm’ level. At 10 inches in height, a queen size Endy mattress weighs 70 pounds. The all-foam construction provides exceptional motion transfer isolation. The Endy is somewhat breathable, but due to its more dense construction, this mattress absorbs a noticeable amount of body heat from sleepers.
