Allswell Highlights…
- The Allswell offers a balanced feel thanks to its adaptive memory foam and strong, supportive coil system.
- The foam is infused with copper to help prevent excess heat buildup on the surface, and the coils promote steady airflow within the mattress core. As a result, the mattress sleeps quite cool.
- The support core is zoned with thicker, more durable coils along the perimeter to provide long-lasting edge support and minimize sinkage when owners get in and out of bed
- Compared to other memory foam hybrids, the Allswell’s price-point is very affordable.
T&N Original Highlights…
- The polyfoam comfort layer is highly adaptive and conforms to the sleeper’s body while remaining supportive and responsive.
- Like other all-foam beds, the T&N Original absorbs movement and eliminates transfer across the surface to reduce sleep disruptions for couples. The mattress is completely silent, as well.
- The comfort layer is composed of open-cell foam that does not trap too much body heat, allowing the mattress to sleep relatively cool compared to other all-foam models.
- While it costs slightly more than the Allswell, the T&N Original is still reasonably priced and offers great value to owners.
Sleep Position Ratings
Allswell
Due to its hybrid design and medium firm feel, the Allswell feels quite supportive and does not conform or sink much beneath the sleeper’s body. These qualities make the mattress best suited to people who weigh more than 230 pounds and sleep on their back and/or side. The mattress offers good reinforcement to prevent excessive sagging beneath heavier areas of the body, so people in this weight range who use these positions should experience some pressure and lower back pain relief.
The mattress will not be as comfortable for side, back, or stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. People in this weight group generally prefer softer mattresses that provide closer contouring. Medium firm models like the Allswell tend to feel stiff by comparison. Sleepers weighing between 130 and 230 pounds may find the mattress more comfortable than their lighter counterparts, but even then the mattress may feel too firm.
T&N Original
While the T&N Original is also medium firm, it’s all-foam design makes this mattress better suited to lighter individuals than the Allswell. In particular, sleepers weighing 130 to 230 pounds should find this mattress offers a comfortable balance of adaptive conforming and strong support. Side sleepers feel ample padding beneath their shoulders and hips, which in turn promotes even spinal alignment and alleviates pressure throughout the body. Back sleepers in this weight group can also rest comfortably without sinking too much around the torso, lower back, and waist.
Some people, including stomach sleepers and individuals weighing more than 230 pounds, may find the mattress lacking in support. This can lead to excessive sagging and added pain and pressure points. While the T&N Original’s high-density foam base provides good overall stability, it is prone to deep sinkage. Anyone who finds the T&N Original unsupportive should consider a hybrid like the Allswell or T&N Hybrid instead.

How Is the Allswell Built?
The Allswell begins with a 2-inch comfort layer of memory foam. While the foam doesn’t contour very closely, sleepers still feel some conforming as the material becomes softer and adapts to their body. The foam is infused with copper and graphite, which is intended to prevent excessive heat buildup on the surface. The Allswell is considered medium firm, so owners should expect more support and less contouring from this mattress.
The Allswell also contains a support core featuring 7-inch pocketed coils. This layer is divided into different zones based on coil gauge, or thickness, with stronger coils along the perimeter to reinforce the edges against sinkage and thinner coils beneath the sleeper’s body for a more comfortable feel. The entire mattress is encased in a stretchy poly-Lycra cover with 1 inch of cotton padding for added cushioning on the surface.
How Is the T&N Original Built?
Like the Allswell, the T&N Original is constructed with two primary layers. The 3-inch comfort layer is composed of adaptive, open-cell polyfoam. The material is quite breathable and won’t trap heat like denser polyfoam or memory foam, but sleepers also feel close contouring – especially if they weigh 130 pounds or more. The foam is infused with graphite gel for added cooling and temperature regulation. This mattress is also considered medium firm, but its all-foam design ensures closer contouring and less support compared to the Allswell hybrid.
The T&N Original also includes a 7-inch support core of high-density polyfoam. This material is quite sturdy and stabilizes the bed fairly well, but owners will notice more sinkage along the edges when getting on and off the mattress. The bed is encased in a durable cover made from polyester and polyamide.

- This warranty is prorated. Allswell will, at its sole discretion, repair defective mattresses or issue a prorated refund to owners for as long as the warranty is valid. If shipping is required for mattress repairs or replacements, Allswell will cover these charges.
- Warranty coverage is contingent on proper foundational support. Per Allswell: ‘ It is incumbent on the consumer to maintain a proper foundation to provide the appropriate support for the mattress to maintain this warranty. Use of improper foundations, platforms or other bases upon which the mattress is placed, may result in damage to the product. The warranty will be voided if an improper base is used that causes the mattress to fail.’
- The warranty will cover sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure 1.5 inches or deeper.
- The warranty will not cover sagging or indentations that do not measure at least 1.5 inches deep or normal softening of the memory foam layer that occurs over time. Additionally, the warranty does not cover physical damage, such as burns, cuts, stains, and defects due to use of an electric or heated blanket.
- This warranty is exclusively offered to original owners who purchase their mattress from Allswell or an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not qualify for warranty coverage.

Trial Period Details
Tuft & Needle offers a 100-night sleep trial for the T&N Original.
- Like Allswell’s trial, this trial does not require a break-in period; customers can return their mattress at any point of the 100-night window in exchange for a full refund. Tuft & Needle will issue a full refund for all returns within the trial period.
- The company encourages customers to recycle or donate unwanted mattresses, but if this is not feasible, the company will arrange for couriers to pick up the mattress from their residence at no extra charge to the customer.
- One return per year is allotted to each household.
- Tuft & Needle also allows exchanges during the 100-night trial. Customers can either upgrade and pay the difference, or exchange for a lower-cost model and receive a partial refund. Either way, exchanging the mattress will end the original sleep trial and the replacement will not receive a separate trial; essentially, this means customers cannot return their second mattress.
- The return policy depends on where the customer purchases their mattress. If bought directly from Tuft & Needle or through Crate & Barrel or Huckberry, customers receive the full 100-night sleep trial and coordinate returns with Tuft & Needle. For other retailers, customers should defer to the seller’s return policy and defer to that company if a return is needed.
-
Warranty
Tuft & Needle backs the T&N Original with a 10-year warranty.
- This warranty is completely non-prorated, so Tuft & Needle will cover all repair and replacement costs if the mattress is deemed defective.
- Owners must use an appropriate support system with their mattress. The warranty will be voided if an improper support system is used and damage occurs as a result.
- Defects covered under this warranty include sagging and body impressions in the surface measuring three-quarters of an inch or deeper, physical flaws in the mattress that cause materials to split or crack, and manufacturing defects associated with the cover assembly. Other issues are not considered defects, and will not warrant free repairs or replacements.
