What Luma Users Say
Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding Luma mattresses.
76% (Luma) 78% (Hybrid and All Latex Slumber Systems)
Luma’s hybrid and all-latex mattresses have earned above-average ratings compared to other models with similar construction.
Latex is exceptionally durable, and mattresses made from this material tend to perform for at least seven to eight years. Hybrids made from latex typically outlast other hybrids, as well.
Fair (all models)
Durability for Luma mattresses appears to be on par with other models featuring latex layers, but the company has not been in business long enough to assess the long-term lifespan of these models.
Latex may not isolate motion transfer as much as memory foam, but it usually absorbs and minimizes movement to some extent. Hybrids with thicker comfort layers tend to isolate more motion.
Very Good (All Latex Slumber System) Good (Luma and Hybrid Slumber System)
Luma’s hybrids isolate transfer to some extent, but the All Latex Slumber System is much more effective at absorbing motion and reducing sleep disruptions for couples.
In most cases, hybrids and other mattresses with springs are more responsive and better for sex than those with foam- or latex-based support cores.
Very Good (Luma and Hybrid Slumber System) Fair (All Latex Slumber System)
The Luma and Hybrid Slumber Systems are very responsive and good for sex, say owners, but the All Latex Slumber System may not be bouncy enough for some couples.
Latex comfort systems conform fairly closely to sleeper’s bodies and alleviate pressure almost as effectively as memory foam.
Good (all models)
Due to the customizable firmness of Luma mattresses, most owners say they experience fairly close conforming with good pressure relief.
Latex sleeps cooler than foam, but mattresses with solid support cores tend to trap heat more than those with coils.
Very Good (Luma and Hybrid Slumber System) Fair (All Latex Slumber System)
Both Luma hybrids sleep fairly cool, but the All Latex Slumber System may feel too warm for people who naturally sleep hot.
Mattresses with latex comfort layers may emit some odor when new but not as much as foam, and smells usually dissipate within days of unpackaging.
Good (all models)
According to customer feedback, Luma mattresses produce minimal odor that is neither excessively strong nor long-lasting.
Mattresses with coils often have well-reinforced edges, but those with foam or latex support cores tend to develop sinkage where people sit when they get up from and off of the bed.
Very Good (Luma and Hybrid Slumber System) Poor (All Latex Slumber System)
Edge support is a chief complaint among owners of the All Latex Slumber System, but hybrid owners claim their mattress offers strong edge support with minimal sinkage.
All-latex mattresses produce little to no noise in most cases, but models with coils may squeak from time to time.
Excellent (All Latex Slumber System) Good (Luma and Hybrid Slumber System)
The All Latex Slumber System is virtually silent when bearing weight, but Luma hybrids produce some noise.
Ease of Moving and Rotating
All mattresses are relatively heavy, but some are more unwieldy and difficult to move than others.
Good (Luma) Poor (Slumber Systems)
In a Queen-size the Luma Mattress weighs 105 pounds, while the Hybrid Slumber System weighs 150 pounds and the All Latex Slumber System weighs 190 pounds.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Luma Mattress?
Based on our customer feedback, Luma mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. These ratings reflect overall sleeper experiences with the mattresses, and do not pertain to a specific firmness setting; experiences will vary depending on the selected firmness. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

Trial Period and Guarantee: Luma Sleep offers a 100-night sleep trial for all mattresses, as well as a comfort layer exchange for the Hybrid and All Latex Slumber Systems.
The sleep trial does not include a mandatory break-in period, and customers may return their mattress at any time during the 100-night period.
Luma Sleep will coordinate the mattress pickup and issue a full product refund for all returns within 100 nights. Refunds will be issued on the debit or credit card used for the original purchase.
All mattresses must be in good condition in order to qualify for a return. Luma Sleep may request a photo of the mattress prior to approving the return.
For the Slumber Systems, Luma Sleep offers free comfort layer exchange for the first year of ownership. Owners receive one free exchange during this time.
Comfort layer exchanges after one year are priced as follows: 20% of the cost of a new comfort layer plus shipping charges of $50 each way, minus a 15% discount for returning customers. These charges are prorated, and increase by 20% of the comfort layer price after each year of ownership.
For example: a King-size comfort layer costs $600, or $510 after the 15% discount is applied, and 20% of $510 is $102. With $100 in shipping charges, the total price of a comfort layer replacement during the second year is $202. During the third year, the comfort layer will cost $204 (or 40% of $510), plus $100 in shipping for a total cost of $304.
Six years after the original purchase, customers must pay the full $510 for each King-size comfort layer exchange.
Comfort layers must be shipped back to Luma Sleep in order to be exchanged. Luma Sleep will issue prepaid shipping labels to customers for this purpose.
Warranty: Luma Sleep offers a 10-year warranty on the Luma Mattress and 15-year warranties for the Hybrid Slumber System and All Latex Slumber System.
Both warranties are entirely nonprorated.
Warranty coverage begins on the original purchase date. Luma Sleep will, at its sole option, repair or replace any mattresses with defects for as long as the warranty is valid.
Luma Sleep covers all shipping and handling costs associated with mattress returns.
Warranty coverage is contingent on proper foundational support. Failure to utilize a supportive foundation will void the warranty.
The warranty will cover the following defects:
Visible sagging or indentations in the sleep surface measuring three-quarters of an inch (3/4″) or deeper.
Physical flaws in the mattress that cause the latex to split or crack despite proper handling and support.
Manufacturing flaws associated with the cover, including problems with the zipper.
The warranty will not cover the following:
Visible sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that do not measure three-quarters of an inch (3/4″) or deeper. This is considered standard wear and tear.
Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage.
This warranty is exclusively offered to original owners who purchase their mattress from Luma Sleep or an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not be eligible for warranty coverage.
