What You Need to Know about Charles P. Rogers Mattresses

Mattress Type and Components: Charles P. Rogers offers hybrid mattresses. The company offers a total of seven different mattress models in three exclusive collections.

  • The St. Regis is available in two designs. A standard St. Regis features a seven-layer comfort system with memory foam, high-density polyfoam, and cotton components. The St. Regis Pulse Latex design substitutes the memory foam with latex. Both versions of the St. Regis feature individually wrapped coils in the support core and a knit, cotton-blend cover.
  • The Powercore Estate collection includes four individual mattress models with varying comfort systems. All Powercore Estate mattresses have pocketed coil support cores and circular-knit covers:
    • The Estate 5000 Firm features a comfort system with a single layer of firm Talalay latex.
    • The Estate 5000 Plus has two layers of Talalay latex in the comfort system, but it is the same thickness as the 5000 Firm model.
    • The Estate 7000 Extra Comfort is designed with two Talalay latex layers — one firm, one soft — in the comfort system.
    • The Estate 9000 Luxury Plush has two layers of firm Talalay latex and one layer of soft Talalay latex in the comfort system. King sizes feature two reversible comfort layer ‘cassettes’ that allow owners to flip between firm and soft feels.
  • The Powercore Nano collection includes two individual models with varying specifications:
    • The Powercore Nano has a comfort system with soft and firm Talalay latex layers, as well as a minicoil layer. The support core is constructed with pocketed coils, and the cover is a circular knit.
    • The Powercore Nano2 has a comfort system with a layer of soft Talalay latex, a firm Talalay latex ‘cassette’ (which is reversible in King-size models), and two minicoil layers. The support core is made of pocketed coils, and the cover is a circular knit.

Pros:

  • Wide range of design and firmness options
  • Above-average durability
  • Strong edge support
  • Free White Glove delivery within contiguous U.S.

Cons:

  • Noise potential
  • Sleep trial is shorter-than-average
  • Returns not accepted after 10 nights
  • Warranty is limited to steel spring components

71% (St. Regis)

The average satisfaction rating for a hybrid mattress is 72.5%, meaning that the Powercore Estate collection from Charles P. Rogers is slightly above average, while the Powercore Nano collection and the St. Regis are slightly below average.
Durability Hybrid mattresses tend to degrade faster due to low-grade polyfoam used in the support core. The average lifespan is roughly six years. Very Good (all models)The average Charles P. Rogers mattress performs for at least seven years, which is longer than the expected durability of most hybrids.
Motion IsolationHybrid mattresses generally do not absorb and isolate motion transfer to the same extent as foam or latex models.Good (all models)Charles P. Rogers mattresses absorb and minimize transfer to some extent, but — like most hybrids — do not isolate motion as much as all-foam or all-latex beds.
Sex Most hybrids are responsive and bouncy enough for sex, but excessively soft models may not be sufficient for some couples.Good (all models)Charles P. Rogers mattresses are fairly responsive, and should be bouncy enough for most couples.
ConformingMost hybrids do not conform very closely compared to foam or latex models, and owners report lower levels of pain and pressure relief.Very Good (St. Regis)
Good (Powercore Nano and Powercore Estate)
The seven-layer comfort system of the St. Regis provides close conforming and above-average pressure relief. The Powercore collections also conform, but not as closely.
Temperature NeutralityHybrid mattresses tend to retain low amounts of body heat and sleep fairly cool as a result.Good (all models)According to our feedback, Charles P. Rogers mattresses retain low amounts of body heat and sleep fairly cool.
Off-gassingOff-gassing may occur in hybrids, but these models tend to produce less odor than those made exclusively of foam.Good (all models)Some Charles P. Rogers owners note off-gassing smells when the mattress is new, but odors usually dissipate within a day or two.
Edge SupportHybrids usually provide more edge support than memory foam and latex mattresses, and are usually on par with traditional innersprings. Very Good (all models)Charles P. Rogers mattresses offer robust edge support, and owners have reported minimal sinkage at the edges where people usually sit.
NoiseHybrids tend to produce more noise than latex or foam mattresses, primarily due to the spring and coil components of the support core.Fair (all models)Charles P. Rogers mattresses can be somewhat loud and squeaky, but no more than a typical hybrid model.
Ease of Moving and RotatingAll mattresses are relatively heavy but some weigh much more than others, and this can make them difficult to move and maneuver.Fair (all models)Queen-size Charles P. Rogers mattresses weigh between 112 and 120 pounds, which is relatively heavy; moving them may be difficult.
