What You Need to Know about the Charles P. Rogers Mattress

Mattress Type and Components:

  • Charles P. Rogers offers innerspring mattresses. A total of seven different mattress models are currently available for sale on the company’s website as part of three exclusive collections:
    • The St. Regis is offered in two different configurations. The standard St. Regis model has a comfort system made of memory foam, cotton, and high-density polyfoam. The St. Regis Latex Pulse option has a comfort system made of latex. Both versions of the St. Regis are constructed with innerspring support cores. The cover is knit from a blend of cotton and synthetic fabrics.
    • The Powercore Estate collection features three different models with different comfort systems. All three feature an innerspring support core and a knit cover with woven border fabric.
      • The Estate 5000 Firm has one layer of extra-firm Talalay latex in the comfort system.
      • The Estate 7000 Extra Comfort has a comfort system with one layer of extra-firm Talalay latex and one layer of soft Talalay latex.
      • The Estate 9000 Luxury Plush features a comfort system with one layer of extra-firm Talalay latex, one layer of soft Talalay latex, and one layer of latex gel.
    • The Powercore Nano collection features two models. The standard Powercore Nano and the Powercore Nano2 mattresses share the same comfort system: a top layer of soft Talalay latex, a middle layer of soft Talalay latex, and a nanocoil bottom layer; they vary in terms of comfort layer size and thickness. The Powercore Nano mattresses also have innerspring support cores and knit covers with woven border fabric.

  • Charles P. Rogers offers a large selection of mattress types and firmness levels to accommodate a wide range of sleeper preferences.
  • Charles P. Rogers have above-average lifespans, sleep relatively cool, and offer strong edge support.
  • Charles P. Rogers has made and sold mattresses since the 1850s, which is significantly longer than the average mattress manufacturer

  • Chief complaints among Charles P. Rogers owners include poor motion isolation, little body-conforming or pressure relief, and noise.
  • Price-points and delivery costs for Charles P. Rogers mattresses are above-average compared to other innerspring manufacturers.
  • The 90-night trial period includes a mandatory 30-night break-in period; customers cannot exchange their mattress or return it for a refund until after testing it out for 30 nights. This could cause confusion for those who don’t read the fine print.
  • Very little information about the company’s mattress warranties is available online. Customers are directed to call the company for detailed information about the warranty; by comparison, most mattress manufacturers make this information available and easily accessible for online users. Furthermore, the Powercore Estate and Powercore Nano mattresses have 25-year warranties with 20 years of prorated coverage; the average mattress manufacturer offers at least 10 years of nonprorated warranty coverage.

Product and Price Range: Charles P. Rogers mattresses are available in six sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. Prices vary by selected model and size; a full price comparison chart is found below. All Charles P. Rogers mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Sleep Trial and Warranty Information

Trial Period and Guarantee: Charles P. Rogers offers a 90-night sleep trial for all mattresses.

  1. There is a mandatory 30-night break-in period associated with the sleep trial. Customers must test out their mattress for at least 30 nights before they can exchange it or return it for a full refund.
  2. Charles P. Rogers will issue a full refund minus shipping and handling costs for all customers who return their mattress after the break-in period is finished.
  3. Customers are allowed one same-size mattress exchange within 30 to 90 days. Customers will be responsible for paying the difference if their replacement model is more expensive than the original.

Warranty: Charles P. Rogers offers variable warranty coverage for their mattresses, depending on the selected model.

  1. All mattresses in the Powercore Estate and Powercore Nano collections feature a 15-year warranty for the mattress materials and a 25-year warranty for the steel components. Both warranties are divided into nonprorated and prorated periods.
    • The first five years of both warranties are nonprorated. Charles P. Rogers will, at their sole option, repair or replace any defective mattress. Customers will be responsible for shipping and handling fees, but Charles P. Rogers will cover all other costs.
    • The last 10 years of the 15-year materials warranty are prorated. During this period, replacement charges are calculated by multiplying the number of years of ownership by 4% of the original product price. For instance, an owner who experiences a materials defect during year 15 of their coverage will pay 60% of the original price.
    • The last 20 years of the 25-year steel warranty are prorated. The same prorated charge formula is used for this warranty (number of years of ownership multiplied by 4% of the original product price). For instance, an owner who experiences a steel defect after 20 years of ownership will pay 80% of the original product price.
  2. The St. Regis and St. Regis Pulse Latex have a 10-year warranty. This warranty is entirely nonprorated. For the entire warranty period, Charles P. Rogers will repair or replace all defective mattresses at no charge to the customer except for shipping and handling costs.
  3. Charles P. Rogers are designed for use with certain types of foundational support. According to the company, ‘a proper bed frame must provide sturdy support for both the mattress used alone or mattress and foundation used together; it is incumbent upon purchaser to ensure that the frame utilized offers ample structural support for that specific style of frame’. Failure to use an adequate support system will void the warranty.
  4. The warranty will cover the following product defects:
    • Visible indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that measure one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or deeper.
    • Physical flaws in the mattress that cause the material to degrade or lose its pressure-relieving abilities despite proper handling and support.
  5. The warranty will not cover the following:
    • Normal increases in mattress softness that do not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or visible indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that do not measure one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or deeper.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
  6. Mattresses will be inspected at the time of their pickup. Damaged or unsanitary mattresses will not be accepted.
  7. This warranty is exclusively extended to original owners that purchase their mattress from Charles P. Rogers or an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer do so ‘as is’, and will not be eligible for warranty coverage.

ConformingInnersprings and hybrids tend to conform less to sleeper’s bodies, resulting in relatively small amounts of pain and pressure relief compared to other mattress types.FairCharles P. Rogers mattresses offer robust edge support, and owners have reported little sinking at the edges.
NoiseInnerspring mattresses tend to be somewhat noisy due to their high levels of bounciness and responsiveness, as well as squeaky metal components.FairCharles P. Rogers mattresses can be somewhat loud and squeaky, but no more than a typical innerspring model.
