BedInABox Mattress Sleep Ratings

Customer SatisfactionBased on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding BedInABox mattresses.77% (PacBed Lite)
82% (Azul)
83% (PacBed Original)
84% (Tranquility)
85% (Silk Symphony and Serenity)
All six memory foam mattresses from BedInABox have earned above-average customer satisfaction ratings compared to other memory foam models.
Durability Memory foam is engineered to provide a comfortable, conforming sleep surface that retains its original shape over time, but indentations are to be expected.Fair (Azul and PacBed Lite)
Very Good (all other models)
The Azul and PacBed Lite have not been on the market long enough to be assessed for long-term performance, but the
other BedInABox models have longer-than-average lifespans.
Motion IsolationMemory foam mattresses have been touted for superior motion isolation, which means that motion does not occur throughout the mattress when someone gets up or shifts their position.Very Good (all models)Our feedback indicates that BedInABox mattresses absorb motion and reduce transfer to a significant extent, resulting in fewer nighttime disruptions for couples.
Sex Memory foam is not very responsive and has little to no bounce. As a result, memory foam modles may not be as good for sex as other mattress options. Good (Tranquility and PacBed Lite)
Fair (all other models)
The Tranquility and PacBed Lite are firmer than other BedInABox memory foam mattresses, making them slightly bouncier and better for sex.
ConformingMemory foam mattresses are engineered to conform to the sleeper’s figure, creating a cradle-shaped impression that aligns the spine and targets pressure points.Very Good (all other models)
Good (Tranquility and PacBed Lite)
Due to their relatively high firmness, the Tranquility and PacBed Lite do not conform as closely or alleviate as much pressure as the other BedInABox memory foam models.
Temperature NeutralityMemory foam retains more body heat than other mattress materials, and users often ‘sleep hot’ as a result.Fair (all models)BedInABox claims the gel-infused memory foam in its mattresses will reduce heat retention, but some sleepers still claim their mattress can be a heat trap.
Off-gassingSome mattresses emit particles when they are unpackaged, accompanied by unpleasant ‘off-gassing’ smells that can last for days.Poor (all models)Even by memory foam mattress standards, BedInABox models produce a high degree of strong off-gassing odor that may linger for several days.
Edge SupportBecause of their construction, memory foam mattresses often feature little to no edge support.Poor (all models)BedInABox mattresses — like most memory foam models — have been criticized for poor edge support, and some sleepers have reported excessive sinkage where they tend to sit.
NoiseMemory foam mattresses create little to no noise, due to their lack of springs, coils, and other metal componentsExcellent (all models)BedInABox gel memory foam mattresses produce little to no noise when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and RotatingMemory foam mattresses tend to be lighter, which makes them easier to move. They never need to be flipped, since only one side is designed for sleeping.Excellent (PacBed Lite)
Good (all other models)
Fair (Serenity and Silk Symphony)
A Queen-size PacBed Lite weighs only 51 pounds, making it easy to move by mattress standards. The Serenity and Silk Symphony mattresses are the heaviest, each weighing more than 100 pounds in the Queen size.

How Is the Mattress Shipped?: BedInABox memory foam mattresses are compressed for shipping. The mattress must be unboxed within 30 days of the delivery; otherwise the warranty will be voided.
Where Do They Ship?: BedInABox ships mattresses anywhere in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. International deliveries are not available at this time.
Delivery Fee: Standard deliveries are free of charge anywhere in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.

Delivery Policy: The delivery policy for BedInABox is as follows:

  1. Purchase orders are normally processed and shipped within two business days.
  2. Expected delivery times within the contiguous U.S. are 1 to 4 business days. For addresses in Alaska, Hawaii, and certain areas of the U.S., the estimated delivery time is 5 to 7 business days.
  3. Orders that include multiple packages (such as a mattress and foundation) will almost always arrive together. In the event that one package arrives before the other(s), the remaining component(s) should arrive one day later.
  4. A signature is not required to receive the mattress package unless the customer lives in an apartment or condominium. At the carrier’s discretion, he/she may hold the package at the nearest shipping center or leave it on the customer’s doorstep.
  5. BedInABox ships mattresses to army post offices (APOs), but the weight limit for these deliveries is 70 lbs and shipping fees start at $100. Materials that cannot fit into the box will be shipped separately, and incur separate charges.
  6. In the event that their mattress is damaged during delivery, customers are encouraged to call the BedInABox Sleep Specialist department.
  7. Customers may cancel their order before it has shipped; as a general rule, they should contact BedInABox within 24 hours to ensure their request will be processed in time. If the mattress has already shipped, the customer will be able to refuse the mattress at their door but will be required to pay shipping charges and restocking fees. According to the BedInABox website, these fees can amount to 10% to 20% of the original mattress price.
  8. Customers who refuse a mattress that is in new condition with no damage will be issued a refund, but they will also be required to pay roundtrip shipping costs and restocking fees.

Old Mattress Removal: Because private couries handle BedInABox deliveries, the company does not offer old mattress removal.

Warranty: BedInABox offers a 20-year warranty for all mattresses.

  1. The warranty is divided into nonprorated and prorated coverage periods.
    • The first 5 years of warranty coverage are nonprorated, and BedInABox will replace or repair defective mattresses at no expense to the owner and cover shipping and handling costs.
    • Years 6 to 10 of the warranty are also nonprorated, but the owner must cover transportation and handling costs.
    • Years 11 to 20 of the warranty are prorated. In the 11th year of warranty coverage, the owner will be able to replace the mattress at a cost of 50% of the original mattress price; the prorated charge will increase by 5% for each successive year, ending with a 95% prorated charge during the 20th year of coverage. The owner must cover transportation and handling costs, as well.
  2. BedInABox mattresses are designed to perform on ‘firm, solid-surface, non-spring’ foundations. The warranty will be voided if the owner supports his/her mattress with ‘unqualified foundations, box springs, adjustable bed bases, or bed frames’. If a warranty claim is filed, the purchaser may be asked for proof of proper foundation.
  3. The warranty will be voided if the mattress is not unpackaged within 30 days of delivery.
  4. The warranty will cover the following defects:
    • Sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure one inch (1″) or deeper during the first five years, or one and quarter inch (1 1/4″) during years 6 through 20.
  5.  The BedInABox mattress warranty will not cover the following:
    • Sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that do not measure one inch (1″) or deeper during the first five years, or less than one and quarter inch (1 1/4″) during years 6 through 20.
    • Expected increases in the softness of the memory foam, which are considered normal wear and tear.
    • Replacements or repairs due to changes in the owner’s comfort preference.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage, stains, ‘abnormal soiling’ and other damages that do not occur during manufacturing or shipping.
  6. This warranty is exclusively available to the original purchaser who buys their mattress from BedInABox or an authorized retailer. Anyone who purchases or acquires the mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not receive warranty coverage.
