What You Need to Know about the Tomorrow Mattress

Mattress Type and Components: Tomorrow Sleep offers a hybrid mattress; Serta Simmons is the parent company of Tomorrow Sleep. This mattress is available in two firmness options, Medium Soft and Medium Firm; the comfort layer construction varies by selected firmness.

  • The Medium Soft Tomorrow mattress features a comfort system with a top layer of 3.5 PCF memory foam, a middle layer of 2.5 PCF gel polyfoam, and bottom layer of 2.6 PCF polyfoam.
  • The Medium Firm Tomorrow mattress has a comfort layer with two components: a top layer of 4.8 PCF memory foam and a bottom layer of 2.5 PCF gel polyfoam.
  • Both mattresses share the same support core, which is constructed with pocketed coils, a base polyfoam layer, and a polyfoam side encasement.
  • Both mattresses feature a cover made from phase-change material (PCM). PCM is designed to absorb body heat until the sleeper reaches a certain temperature, and then stop retaining heat in order to provide a cooler sleep surface.

Pros:

  • Strong edge support and good motion isolation
  • PCM cover sleeps fairly cool
  • Below-average price-point compared to other hybrids
  • Free shipping
  • 365-night sleep trial

Cons:

  • Heavy and difficult to move
  • Unknown mattress lifespan due to limited company history
  • Noise potential

Product and Price Range: The Tomorrow Hybrid Mattress is available in six sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. These range in price from $450 (Twin) to $1,150 (California King); there is no price difference between the two firmness options. All Tomorrow mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Customer SatisfactionBased on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding the Tomorrow mattress.77%Tomorrow mattresses have earned a customer satisfaction rating of 77%, which is above-average compared to other hybrids.
Durability Hybrid mattresses tend to degrade faster due to low-grade polyfoam used in the support core. The average lifespan is roughly six years. FairDurability for the Tomorrow mattresses appears to be fair or better, but the company has been in business for roughly one year and the overall lifespan of these models has not been fully assessed.
Motion IsolationHybrid mattresses generally do not absorb and isolate motion transfer to the same extent as foam or latex models.GoodThanks to its topmost memory foam layer, the Tomorrow mattress isolates motion and minimizes transfer to a good extent.
Sex Most hybrids are responsive and bouncy enough for sex, but excessively soft models may not be sufficient for some couples.GoodThe Tomorrow mattress should be responsive and bouncy enough for most couples when it comes to sex.
ConformingMost hybrids do not conform very closely compared to foam or latex models, and owners report lower levels of pain and pressure relief.GoodThe Tomorrow mattress conforms somewhat closely, but those seeking more contouring may want to choose an all-foam or latex model.
Temperature NeutralityHybrid mattresses tend to retain low amounts of body heat and sleep fairly cool as a result.Very GoodThanks to its phase-change cover, the Tomorrow mattress sleeps fairly cool and there are few temperature complaints from owners.
Off-gassingOff-gassing may occur in hybrids, but these models tend to produce less odor than those made exclusively of foam.GoodThere is some odor potential with the Tomorrow mattress, but most owners report that the smells dissipate within a few days.
Edge SupportHybrids usually provide more edge support than memory foam and latex mattresses, and are usually on par with traditional innersprings. Very GoodThe Tomorrow mattress has a polyfoam encasement around the support core for extra edge support and minimal sinkage where people sit.
NoiseHybrids tend to produce more noise than latex or foam mattresses, primarily due to the spring and coil components of the support core.FairAs is the case with most hybrids, the Tomorrow mattress may produce some squeaking sounds when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and RotatingAll mattresses are relatively heavy but some weigh much more than others, and this can make them difficult to move and maneuver.PoorA Queen-size Tomorrow mattress weighs 110 to 113 pounds, depending on the firmness, making it difficult to move for most people.
