All 11 Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattresses share the same general composition, which includes a memory foam comfort layer and a high-density polyfoam support core. However, there are some variations between models. The GrandBed, for instance, has a silk and cashmere cover; all other Tempur-Pedic models have polyester covers.
It’s also important to note that the TEMPUR-ProAdapt and TEMPUR-Adapt are available as hybrids; these designs swap out the polyfoam base for pocketed coils encased in polyfoam. Tempur-Pedic mattresses range in height from 11″ to 15″, making them thicker than the average memory foam bed. The Cloud series models are all ‘Soft’ in terms of firmness; the Contour Series models are all ‘Firm’; the Adapt series models range from ‘Soft’ to ‘Firm’; and the GrandBed is ‘Medium Soft.’
All eight Sleep Number airbeds share the same general construction, which includes polyfoam comfort layers and support cores with two adjustable air chambers. Cover composition varies by model, but all contain a combination of rayon, polyester, and/or polypropylene.
Generally speaking, the Classic series beds offer firmer settings than the Performance and Innovation series. However, all eight models can be adjusted for firmness and offer a range of options to accommodate different sleep preferences. With the exception of the c4 (9″) and i10 (13″), all Sleep Number mattresses are between 10″ and 12″ thick.
Sleeper experiences with Tempur-Pedic mattresses vary by selected model. Lighter individuals and side sleepers tend to feel most comfortable on mattresses in the Cloud series, which have softer surfaces, while models in the Contour series are firmer are more suitable for heavier people and back/stomach sleepers. Mattresses in the Adapt series offers multiple firmness and design options, giving them the widest range in terms of sleeper satisfaction. All Tempur-Pedic mattresses earned high ratings for motion isolation, noise potential, and durability.
Customization is a key strength of Sleep Number airbeds, according to those who use them. All eight models offer an adjustable firmness range that accommodates sleepers in different weight groups. The firmer Classic series airbeds may be more suitable for heavier individuals and back/stomach sleepers, while models in the Performance and Innovation series offer softer settings that may be a good option for side sleepers and lighter people. Sleep Number airbeds also isolate motion transfer fairly well.
