Who is Parachute?
As a brand, Parachute combines European luxury with a laidback, California beach vibe. Its products are for shoppers after high quality comfort.
A Look at their Products
Parachute offers a wide selection of products for the home. You can buy decorative throws for the living room, rugs and shower curtains for the bathroom, kitchen accessories, dog beds, and more. Parachute gives you the opportunity to bring luxe comfort to all areas of your home.
But bedding remains the top priority at Parachute, and it shows in the wide variety and customizability of bed sheets they offer. Sheet sets come with a fitted sheet and pillowcase(s), with the option of adding a top sheet if you prefer. Shoppers can buy a uniform sheet set where everything is the same color or they can mix and match their sheet set colors.
Parachute Sheets Collections
Parachute’s brand is built on meeting customer preferences through highly personal and customizable purchase options. Each sheet set comes with two standard-sized pillowcases or King-size pillowcases for the King and California King-sized beds. The fitted sheet is made to fit snugly around mattresses up to 16 inches deep. Parachute doesn’t include top sheets with their sets, but you do have the option to include one when you buy a sheet set. Their sheets, like all of their bedding products, are Oeko-Tex certified, meaning they’re free of harmful substances.
Below we’ve provided a review for each of the five sheet sets currently offered by Parachute. Read on to learn more about which sheets might best suit your bedding needs.
Parachute’s Linen Sheet Set features fabric made out of 100 percent European flax. Their linen sheets have a subtle texture, achieved through garment washing. The fabric is soft but durable and naturally stain resistant. Parachute’s linen sheets are suitable for anyone who wants a laidback look paired with a feeling of comfort and luxury. These breathable sheets work for cool and warm sleepers and are ideal for year-round use. Parachute’s linen sheet set is currently available in four sizes: Full, Queen, King, and California King. Choose from seven unique color options: white, bone, fog, grey, blush, coal, and indigo.
The Parachute Sateen Sheet Set is made from 100% long-stapleEgyptian cotton. The sateen weave gives these sheets a luxurious sheen, comparable to satin. The look is achieved through a four-over-one-under weaving method. Not only does this method give sateen its lovely luster, but it also provides a super soft feel and is naturally wrinkle resistant. The subtle sheen will gently diminish over time with repeated washings. Parachute’s sateen sheets are cool-to-the-touch and work well as cooling sheets. They’re available in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King sizes. Sateen sheets come in four neutral shades: white, sand, light grey, and slate.
Sateen weave gives these sheets a silky smooth feel
White and richly colored yarns woven together to give unique look
Made from 100% long staple Egyptian cotton
Not available in Twin or Twin XL sizes
Parachute’s Washed Sateen Sheet Set puts a new spin on their traditional sateen sheets. The more modern look is achieved by white and richly colored cotton threads. The fabric, made from 100 percent long-staple cotton, possesses a matte finish, with side-open pillowcases that feature a color-contrasting hem. The fitted sheet front side is noticeably darker than the backside. Like Parachute’s the more traditional looking sateen sheet set, these are a great choice for warm sleepers or use during hot summer months. The Washed Sateen Sheet Set comes in Full, Queen, King, and California King sizes. This sheet set comes in one of two neutral color tones: rose and pewter.
Lightweight, breathable weave let’s you sleep comfortably
Made from 100% long staple Egyptian cotton
Available in 6 neutral colors
Material continues to soften over time
The Parachute Percale Sheet Set is made from 100% premium long-staple Egyptian cotton. The percale weave uses a simplistic one over, one under method, and the result is sheets that are lightweight and highly breathable. The sheets are garment washed for your comfort, and with proper care, will continue to soften with each wash. Be aware that percale sheets are more prone to wrinkling. Parachute’s Percale Sheet Set can be purchased in six sizes Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. Twin and Twin XL sheet sets are available in white only. All other sizes are available for purchase in white, sand, powder blue, light grey, slate, and navy colors.
Like the washed sateen sheets, Parachute’s Heathered Percale Sheet Set puts a fresh and modern spin on traditional percale. The fabric is made of 100% premium cotton, and like standard percale sheets, are made using the one over, one under weaving method. Heathered sheets get their look by interweaving light and dark yarn to create flecks of neutral colors that blend seamlessly with a low maintenance decor style. Parachute’s heathered percale sheets are lightweight, soft, and cool to the touch, making them an attractive buy for hot sleepers. The heathered percale sheets come in four sizes: Full, Queen, King, and California King. Color choices include dove and carbon.
Parachute is the brainchild of CEO and founder Ariel Kaye. The inspiration came from a vacation in Europe. While in Italy, Kaye stayed at a hotel with unforgettably soft and comfortable bedding, the best that she’d ever experienced in her life.
When she later returned to the United States, she immediately began to look around for bedding products that matched her experience. She admitted to feeling disappointed at seeing so much lackluster bedding on the American market; none of which could compare to the bedding she enjoyed in back in Italy. Kaye decided the best way to get what she wanted was to create her own bedding company, and she launched Parachute in 2014.
Kaye explained that she created Parachute because she wanted people to begin and end the day feeling as good as possible. The best way to make that happen is by providing high-quality sheets for a great night’s sleep. Kaye is a firm believer in getting sheets to customers that are as authentic as possible. Parachute is dedicated to meeting and exceeding international safety standards for textiles; their bedding is free from harsh chemicals and artificial treatments.
Parachute’s home base is in Venice Beach, California and it currently employs approximately 40 people. In addition, the brand works closely with artisans around the world — some of whom have created top quality bedding for generations. Parachute, despite its fairly recent arrival on the very competitive bedding market, continues to make a name for itself as a luxury brand.
Everything You need to Know about Parachute Sheets
Below we’ve compiled additional information to help you decide which of Parachute’s sheet sets are best for your individual comfort needs.
Parachute prices will vary depending on size and the items included with each set. For instance, Twin-size sets have a single standard pillowcase while King size sheet sets have two King-size pillowcases. The company doesn’t include top sheets with orders as a matter of preference. The decision is based on research that finds many sleepers do not want a flat sheet and are fine sleeping with only a fitted sheet and a comforter. Customers do have the option of adding a top sheet to their order if it happens to be their personal preference.
Parachute’s sheet set pricing is determined by the quality of the materials and the company’s internal standards for comfort and luxury.
Parachute sheets require a little extra love and care when washing. To get the most out of your sheets, it’s important you read and follow the cleaning instructions carefully. Be sure to carefully follow the cleaning instructions on the product label. Additionally, Parachute’s website provides a comprehensive sheet care instructions guide.
Here are some helpful tips Parachute offers for cleaning and maintaining your sheets:
Avoid sheet contact with items that contain benzoyl peroxide, alpha hydroxy acids, and chlorine bleach.
In addition to avoiding harsh chemicals, you’ll want to keep sheets away from certain skin care and acne medication, hair products and dyes, cosmetics, certain kinds of toothpaste and household cleaning products.
Don’t wash sheets with clothing, especially clothes that contain zippers or hooks as they can cause abrasions and tears.
Wash sheets with items of a similar color and fabric.
Tumble dry bedding on a low setting.
Remove the sheets from the machine immediately.
Iron on low heat.
