PangeaBed Mattress Sleep Ratings

CategoryCriteriaPangeaBed RatingWhat PangeaBed Users Say
Customer SatisfactionBased on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding the PangeaBed mattress.72%The PangeaBed has earned a customer satisfaction rating of 72%, which is on par with the average rating for all memory foam mattresses.
Durability The average mattress has a lifespan of seven years, and memory foam mattresses tend to be less durable than other models due to their soft sleep surface and relatively weak edge support.FairDurability for the PangeaBed appears to be fair, but this model has been sold for roughly one year and its overall lifespan has not been assessed yet.
Motion IsolationMemory foam mattresses are designed to minimize and isolate motion, resulting in fewer nighttime disruptions than innerspring and latex mattresses.Very GoodAccording to owners, the PangeaBed absorbs and minimizes motion to a significant extent.
Sex Some couples report that foam mattresses are less than ideal for sex, mostly due to the unresponsive sleep surface that can create feelings of ‘fighting’ against the mattress.FairThe PangeaBed is not particularly bouncy or responsive, which is typical of mattresses made from foam and latex.
ConformingMost memory foam mattresses closely conform to sleeper’s bodies, which improves spinal alignment and relieves pressure points.Very GoodThe PangeaBed conforms closely for a contoured, pressure-relieving feel, and the copper infusion in the latex layer can help with circulation.
Temperature NeutralityFoam mattresses tend to retain more body heat and ‘sleep hotter’ than innerspring or latex mattresses.GoodCopper-infused latex sleeps fairly cool, and there is a relatively small number of heat complaints associated with this mattress.
Off-gassingSome mattresses produce unpleasant odors known as off-gassing when they are removed from their packaging, and these smells may linger for several days.GoodThe PangeaBed produces some off-gassing odors, but they are not particularly offensive or long-lasting.
Edge SupportFoam mattresses generally have minimal edge support compared to innerspring models, and sinkage may occur where people get on to and off of the bed.PoorThe PangeaBed provides little to no edge support, and some owners say the mattress sinks around the perimeter where they tend to sit.
NoiseFoam beds are generally much quieter than innersprings and hybrids, due in large part to the lack of potentially creaky metal components.ExcellentAccording to owners, the PangeaBed is virtually silent when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and RotatingFoam beds tend to be lighter than innersprings, but they need to be regularly rotated in order to preserve the conforming sleep surface.Very GoodA Queen-size PangeaBed weighs roughly 71 pounds, which is lighter than the average memory foam mattress model.
