Quick Summary
Lytton Sleep is a U.S.-based mattress manufacturer. The company currently offers two individual models:
- The Serene: Comfort Plush, also known simply as the Serene, is a 13-inch hybrid model. The bed is constructed with a cover of hand-tufted organic cotton, a gel-infused memory foam Euro-top layer, and a polyfoam transitional layer. The support core features zoned pocketed coils, with thicker springs around the perimeter for added edge support. The Serene has a ‘medium’ feel that corresponds to a 5.5 on the 1-10 firmness scale.
- The Serene Plus: Comfort Firm is also known simply as the Serene Plus. It shares the same thickness profile and general construction as the Serene. However, the Serene Plus has a ‘firm’ feel, or a 7 on the 1-10 firmness scale.
Both Lytton Sleep mattresses provide consistent temperature neutrality, which can be beneficial to hot sleepers. The reinforced edges also help protect the perimeter from sinkage, which may extend the beds’ lifespans.
The Serene conforms closely to align the spine and pad the shoulders and hips, making it a good option for most side sleepers, while the Serene Plus conforms to a minimal degree and provides stable support for heavier back and stomach sleepers.
Lytton Sleep’s mattresses have below-average price-points for hybrid models. The company also offers free shipping anywhere in the contiguous U.S. Each bed is backed by a 100-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty.

Based on our customer feedback, Lytton Sleep mattresses have received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a bed.
For more information on sleeping positions please see our guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.
- Serene Mattress
- Serene Plus
As you can see, each Lytton Sleep mattress has earned positive ratings from different sleepers based on position and body weight. The Serene has a medium (5.5) feel. It conforms closely, making it optimal for sleepers who weigh 230 pounds or less. This is particularly true for side sleepers who prefer extra padding beneath their shoulders and hips.
The Serene Plus does not conform very closely, but it offers consistent contouring and even weight distribution. This bed earned the most positive ratings from individuals who weigh more than 230 pounds, especially back and stomach sleepers.
We Recommend a Lytton Sleep Mattress if...
- You want to purchase a hybrid mattress with a below-average price-point
- You tend to sleep hot
- You prefer sleeping on bed with thicker profiles

How Do Lytton Sleep Mattresses Compare to Other Beds?
As any consumer does with a product they’re considering, our mattress assessments naturally involve comparing them with other similar products. Be it composition, firmness, or price, we think it’s important to see how the Lytton Sleep hybrid mattresses stack up to other beds.
The Serene and Serene Plus mattresses both contain the same core components, including an organic cotton cover, gel-infused memory foam Euro-top, transitional polyfoam layer, and pocketed coil support core. They each measure 13 inches thick, as well.
The softer Serene Mattress conforms closely to alleviate pressure and align the spine for side sleepers. The Serene Plus is firmer by comparison, making it better suited to back and stomach sleepers.
