What You Need to Know about the Herobed Mattress

Mattress Type and Components:

  • Herobed offers a memory foam mattress.
  • The comfort layer features a top layer of gel memory foam, a second layer of pocketed minicoils, a third layer of transitional polyfoam, and a bottom layer of pocketed minicoils.
  • The support core is constructed from polyfoam.
  • The knit cover is made of undisclosed fabric.
  • Please note that the Herobed mattress is advertised as a hybrid. However, this model does not meet our criteria for a ‘true’ hybrid because it does not feature a coil-based support core.

Pros:

  • Herobed offers free shipping for all deliveries.
  • The sleep trial spans 100 nights, which is longer than the sleep trials for most other mattress manufacturers; additionally, Herobed will cover all transportation and handling costs associated with returning a mattress.

Cons:

  • Herobed offers one mattress and one available firmness rating, which may be limiting for customers whose sleep preferences fall outside the given specifications.
  • Herobed requires customers to test out their mattress for at least 30 nights before they can return it for a refund as part of the 100-night sleep trial. This may be confusing for those who don’t read the fine print.
  • Herobed was founded in 2016, and the long-term performance of these mattresses has not been accurately assessed.

How Is the Mattress Shipped?: Herobed mattresses are compressed, vacuum-sealed, and shipped in a box. Each shipping box is decorated in a ‘#HeroColors’ motif, which is designed for children’s coloring. According to the Herobed, this mattress will be sleep-ready ‘within minutes’ of unpackaging. Herobed does not recommend leaving the mattress in its box for more than 30 days.
Where Do They Ship?: Herobed ships mattresses anywhere in the continental United States. Deliveries to Alaska or Hawaii are not offered at this time; international shipping is unavailable, as well.
Delivery Fee: Standard shipping is free of charge for all deliveries in the lower 48 states. The company does not offer expedited shipping or White Glove delivery.

Delivery Policy: The delivery policy for Herobed is as follows:

  1. All Herobed mattress deliveries are coordinated through FedEx. Mattresses require two to three days for assembly, and most customers receive their assembled mattress within one to five business days. Please note that weekend deliveries are not available.
  2. FedEx will issue a tracking number to customers within 24 hours after their mattress ships. Those who need to change their delivery details can do so by contacting Herobed via email.
  3. Customers are encouraged to set up an account on FedEx delivery tracker in order to monitor their delivery and make changes as needed. This is a free service.
  4. Herobed does not ship mattresses to Air/Army Post Offices (APOs), Fleet Post Offices (FPOs), or P.O. boxes.

Old Mattress Removal: Because they utilize FedEx for all deliveries, Herobed does not offer old mattress removal services.
Availability: Herobed mattresses are available exclusively on the Herobed website. These models are not sold through Amazon.com or other online retailers, and the company does not operate any brick-and-mortar stores.

Sleep Trial and Warranty Information

Trial Period and Guarantee: Herobed offers a 100-night sleep trial for all mattresses.

  1. There is a mandatory 30-night break-in period. Customers may not return their mattress in exchange for a full refund until at least 30 nights have elapsed.
  2. Herobed will schedule a mattress pickup for all customers who wish to return their mattress after 30 nights. The company will cover all shipping and handling costs associated with mattress returns; delivery personnel will remove the mattress from the owner’s residence and transport it to a recycling facility or donation center. The mattress does not need to be repackaged prior to pickup.

Warranty: Herobed offers a 10-year limited warranty for all mattresses.

  1. Warranty coverage begins on the date of original purchase. Herobed will, at their sole option, repair or replace any defective mattress for as long as the warranty is valid.
  2. Herobed will cover costs related to physically repairing or replacing a defective mattress, but owners will be responsible for all transportation and handling costs.
  3. Herobed mattresses are designed for use with certain types of foundational support. According to Herobed, this mattress must be supported with a ‘solid base, foundation, or adjustable bed base that is capable of supporting the mattress and occupant(s)’. Use of an improper foundation will void the warranty.
  4. In the event that a mattress owner chooses to replace their defective model with an upgrade, the owner will pay the difference between the original and the upgrade, and a new warranty will be drawn up for the replacement.
  5. The warranty will cover the following mattress defects:
    • Visible indentations or sagging in the sleep surface that measure one inch (1″) or deeper, and are not the result of owner misuse and/or improper foundational support.
    • Physical flaws in the mattress that cause foams to split or crack.
    • Manufacturing flaws related to the cover, including cracked or broken zippers.
  6. The warranty will not cover the following:
    • Normal increases in mattress softness that do not affect its pressure-relieving abilities, or visible indentations or sagging in the sleep surface that do not measure one inch (1″) or deeper. These issues are considered standard wear and tear.
    • Repair or replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that result from owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
  7. This warranty is exclusively extended to original owners who purchase their Herobed mattress directly from the company or an authorized retailer. Anyone who buys or acquires their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer does so ‘as is’, and will not receive warranty protection.
