Helix Pillow Sleep Ratings
What Helix Users Say
Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding the Helix Pillow.
The Helix Pillow has earned a customer satisfaction rating of 77%, which is comparable to the rating for all memory foam pillows (and better-than-average compared to the rating for all down alternative pillows)
The average pillow will begin to deteriorate after two to three years of use.
The Helix Pillow’s lifespan appears to be on par with the average pillow lifespan; however, the pillow was introduced in 2018 and has not been assessed for long-term performance.
Some pillows are only available in one firmness setting, which can be limited for customers who fall outside that loft category.
Only one version of the Helix Pillow is available, but its customizable design allows owners to adjust the firmness as they see fit.
Some pillows flatten out over time, and require constant fluffing in order to maintain a full, supportive shape.
Shredded foam and down alternative pillows tend to flatten easily and may need regular fluffing; the Helix Pillow does not flatten more than average, according to owners.
Pillows that are highly moldable can be scrunched and squeezed into different positions, which is beneficial for sleepers who snuggle with pillows.
The Helix Pillow is fairly moldable, owners say, and is suitable for people who snuggle with pillows during the night.
Some pillows conform to the contours of the sleeper’s head and neck for optimal comfort and targeted pressure relief.
The Helix Pillow offers noticeable conforming, though pillows made entirely of memory foam tend to conform closer and alleviate more pressure.
Pillows may sleep hot or cold, usually depending on both the air circulation in the interior and the composition of the cover.
Most pillows with memory foam and/or down alternative fibers tend to sleep hot, and owners say the Helix Pillow is no exception.
Off-gassing is to be expected from most pillows, but some produce stronger, longer-lasting odors that can disrupt sleep.
Many Helix Pillow owners notice off-gassing smells when their pillow is new, but odors tend to dissipate in a matter of days.
Some pillows are significantly heavier than average, making it difficult for some sleepers to move and maneuver them in the night.
The Helix Pillow is not particularly heavy, and weighs four pounds total when all inserts are used.
Ease of Cleaning
Depending on the material, pillows may be machine washable or require more intensive cleaning, such as hand washing, spot cleaning, or professional (dry) cleaning.
The Helix Pillow is not machine washable, and should only be spot cleaned. The pillow can be periodically placed in a dryer to restore its full shape.
