Warranty coverage begins on the date of original purchase. Mattress Firm will, at their sole option, repair or replace all mattresses that are deemed defective for as long as the warranty is valid.
Hampton & Rhodes mattresses vary in terms of warranty coverage length:
The HR100 and HR200 are covered under an entirely nonprorated 1-year warranty.
The HR300, HR320, and HR340 are covered under a 5-year warranty. The first year of the warranty is nonprorated, and the last four years of the warranty are prorated.
The Cool Gel, Two-Sided, HR400, HR440, HR500, San Martin, Trinidad and Aruba mattresses are covered under a 10-year warranty. Nonprorated and prorated coverage period may vary, but in most cases the warranty will include three years of nonprorated coverage and seven years of prorated coverage.
Prorated charges are calculated as follows: [Original Product Price] x [Number of Years Owned] ÷ [Warranty Period].
Customers will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with mattress repairs or replacements.
Warranty coverage for King and Queen models is contingent on proper foundational support. These mattresses must be supported with a sturdy frame that either has a rigid center bar or at least five wooden slats evenly spaced no more than two inches apart and at least one center support leg. Failure to comply with these requirements may void the warranty.
The warranty will cover the following defects:
Sagging or indentations in the sleep surface that measure one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or more and are not associated with owner misuse or improper foundational support.
The warranty will not cover the following:
Sagging or indentations that do not measure at least one and a half inches (1 1/2″), or normal increases in mattress softness that do not affect its pressure-relieving abilities. These issues are considered normal wear and tear.
Repair or replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
Warranty claims made outside the U.S. will not be honored.
Warranty coverage is exclusively offered to the original owner that buys their mattress from Hampton & Rhodes, Mattress Firm, or another authorized retailer. Anyone who buys or acquires their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized will not be eligible for warranty protection.
Hampton & Rhodes Mattress Sleep Ratings
Hampton & Rhodes Rating
What Hampton & Rhodes Users Say
Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding Hampton & Rhodes mattress.
65% (Innerspring) 66% (Foam) 68% (Hybrid)
Innersprings from Hampton & Rhodes earned customer satisfaction ratings that are on par with the average model, while the brand’s foam and hybrid models earned below-average ratings.
The average mattress will perform for approximately seven years before it needs to be replaced.
Fair (Foam and Hybrid) Poor (Innerspring)
Durability is a chief complaint among Hampton & Rhodes innerspring owners, many of whom experience sagging and indentations within the first two to three years. The lifespan of foam and hybrid models is closer to the industry average.
Innerspring/hybrid mattresses that are overly responsive will create excessive motion when someone gets up or shifts positions in bed. Most all-foam mattresses effectively minimize and isolate motion, which can cut down on nighttime disruptions.
Very Good (Foam) Good (Hybrid) Fair (Innerspring)
As is to be expected, the foam mattress models from Hampton & Rhodes offer the best motion isolation, while the company’s hybrids isolate motion to a greater extent than their innersprings.
Bouncier, more responsive beds (such as innersprings and hybrids) tend to be more enjoyable for sex than all-foam mattress models.
Very Good (Innerspring) Good (Hybrid) Fair (Foam)
The innerspring mattresses from Hampton & Rhodes can be quite responsive and, according to our customers, good for sex. The hybrids are fairly responsive, while the foam mattresses offer little responsiveness.
Foam mattresses are designed to conform closely to the sleeper’s body and alleviate bodily pressure. Innersprings and hybrids tend to conform less, resulting in lower amounts of pressure relief.
Good (Foam and Hybrid) Fair (Innerspring)
Based on our feedback, foam and hybrid mattresses from Hampton & Rhodes somewhat conform to sleeper’s bodies, but may not relieve as much pressure as other models with foam and/or memory foam layers. The company’s innersprings conform very little.
Innerspring mattresses (and hybrids to an extent) tend to retain less body heat than other mattress types, and will ‘sleep cooler’ as a result. By comparison, all-foam beds tend to sleep hotter.
Very Good (Innerspring) Fair (Foam and Hybrid)
Hampton & Rhodes innerspring owners say their mattress retains very little body heat and sleeps fairly cool, whereas some foam and hybrid owners say their bed can be a heat trap.
Some mattresses emit particles when they are unpackaged, accompanied by unpleasant ‘off-gassing’ smells that can last for days.
Good (Innerspring) Fair (Foam and Hybrid)
A small number of Hampton & Rhodes innerspring owners report off-gassing smells; odor is more commonly reported among foam and hybrid owners.
The frames of innerspring mattresses are encased to support the springs and provide a suitable sleeping surface. All-foam mattresses, on the other hand, typically have poor edge support, and may prematurely sink where people usually sit.
Very Good (Innerspring) Good (Hybrid) Poor (Foam)
Foam mattresses from Hampton & Rhodes offer little to no edge support. However, owners of innersprings and hybrids from the brand report strong edge support and relatively little sinkage at the edges.
Innerspring mattresses tend to be somewhat noisy due to their high levels of bounciness and responsiveness, as well as squeaky metal components; most foam mattresses produce little to no noise.
Excellent (Foam) Good (Hybrid) Poor (Innerspring)
Innersprings from Hampton & Rhodes are relatively loud even by model standards, but the company’s hybrids are somewhat quieter and the foam models are virtually silent when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and Rotating
Most innerspring mattresses are relatively heavy, but some can be more unwieldy than others. Foam mattresses tend to be lighter by comparison.
Good (All Types)
Generally speaking, Hampton & Rhodes mattresses are lighter than average, making them fairly easy to move, maneuver, and rotate as recommended.
What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Hampton & Rhodes Mattress?
