What You Need to Know about the Ghostbed Mattress
Mattress Type and Components:
Ghostbed offers a mixed latex and foam mattress.
The comfort layer features two distinct components: a top layer of aerated, synthetic Dunlop latex; and a bottom layer of gel-infused memory foam.
The support core is constructed from low-density polyfoam.
The Ghostbed mattress also comes with a cover woven from a polyester fabric blend.
The comfort layer of a Ghostbed mattress contains both latex and memory foam, which some owners say provides a good balance of firmness and body-contouring that is usually not found in all-latex or all-foam models.
The Ghostbed mattress produces less off-gassing odor than traditional memory foam models.
Ghostbed mattresses have a relatively low price-point, and the company ships mattresses within 24 hours; free delivery is offered to all customers in the contiguous U.S.
While the Ghostbed may represent a suitable compromise for sleepers who are unsatisfied with all-latex or all-foam surfaces, many customers report these mattresses are excessively firm and do not conform closely enough to alleviate pressure.
Ghostbed was launched in 2015, making it too early to accurately gauge the lifespan of these mattresses, but the company has garnered an above-average number of customer complaints during that time; Ghostbed currently holds a D- grade on the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
The 101-night trial period may cause confusion among purchasers, since they will be unable to request a return until they have had the mattress in their possession for at least 30 nights.
Product and Price Range: Ghostbed mattresses are available in six sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. These range in price from $450 (Twin) to $995 (King and California King). All Ghostbed mattresses are manufactured in the U.S.
How Is the Mattress Shipped?: The Ghostbed mattress is compressed, vacuum-sealed, and shipped in a box. Box weights range from 58 lbs (Twin) to 112 lbs (King and California King). According to Ghostbed, the mattress can remain in its box for up to six months; however, owners may want to unpackage the mattress before then in order Where Do They Ship?: Ghostbed ships mattresses to any address in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. Delivery Fee: Delivery within the contiguous 48 states is free, while shipping to Alaska or Hawaii will incur a $600 charge.
Delivery Policy: The delivery policy for Ghostbed mattresses is as follows:
Orders are immediately processed, and mattresses will ship anywhere in the U.S. within 24 hours. Therefore, customers should ensure all of their address and contact information is correct at the time of purchase since this information cannot be altered or adjusted once the order has been completed.
Cancellations after orders have been submitted will incur a restocking fee, which amounts to roughly 15% of the mattress refund.
FedEx provides all deliveries for Ghostbed; customers will receive a FedEx tracking number as soon as their mattress ships. If a customer needs to adjust the date or time of their scheduled delivery, they are encouraged to sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager® and make arrangements with them directly. There is no charge for asking FedEx to hold the package at a shipping location. However, customers may face fees for changing the delivery address.
At this time, Ghostbed does not ship mattresses to army post offices (APOs), fleet post offices (FPOs) or P.O. boxes.

The mattress cover will not be protected under the mattress warranty; a separate, one-year warranty will be issued for the cover.
The warranty will be voided if the Ghostbed mattress is not supported with a ‘firm, solid-surface, or adjustable bed base’.

The warranty is exclusively offered to the original owner of the mattress. Anyone who purchases or acquires the mattress from the owner will do so ‘as is’, and will not receive warranty coverage from Ghostbed.
Ghostbed Mattress Sleep Ratings
What Ghostbed Users Say
Based on data collection, this is an overall customer sentiment regarding the Ghostbed mattress.
Ghostbed has received a 70% customer satisfaction rating based on the data collection of verified customer reviews performed by Tuck
Latex mattresses are noted for being exceptionally durable, with longer average lifespans than both innersprings and memory foam mattresses.
The lifespan of a Ghostbed appears to be on par with that of the average mattress, but Ghostbed has only been in business for two years, so mattress durability cannot be accurately evaluated yet.
Latex mattresses isolate motion to some extent, but some motion transfer is to be expected.
Ghostbed mattresses isolate motion to some extent, but customer reviews indicate that they don’t isolate as well as some all foam/memory foam beds.
The firmness level of a latex mattress can be used to determine if how suitable it is for sex; firmer models tend to be better, while models that are less firm may be less than optimal.
The soft comfort layer of Ghostbed mattresses is highly responsive with little bounce, and some couples report that the surface is not very conducive for sex as a result.
Latex mattresses are designed to conform to sleeper’s figures, aligning the spine and pinpointing pressure areas.
Ghostbed owners claim the mattress conforms somewhat closely and alleviates pressure, but not as effectively as mattresses with all-latex or all-foam comfort layers. An above average number of customers have complained that the Ghostbed is too firm.
Latex is naturally cool and breathable, making these mattresses a suitable option for sleepers who feel too hot on memory foam.
The top latex layer somewhat tempers the Ghostbed’s memory foam, but some customers claim the mattress still sleeps relatively hot.
Some mattresses emit particles when they are unpackaged, accompanied by unpleasant ‘off-gassing’ smells that can last for days.
Some off-gassing is to be expected due to the memory foam layer, but Ghostbed mattresses produce less odor than comparable all-foam models.
Due to their construction, latex mattresses tend to have little to no edge support, and may wear down quickly as a result of people sitting on the edges.
Ghostbed owners — particularly those who weigh 230 lbs or more — report minimal edge support, but this bed is on par with comparable mixed foam and latex mattresses.
Latex mattresses feature solid cores with no springs, coils, or other metal parts — and produce little to no noise as a result.
The Ghostbed mattress produces virtually no noise when bearing weight.
Ease of Moving and Rotating
Latex mattresses (particularly those that use Dunlop latex) tend to be somewhat bottom-heavy, but they never need to be flipped.
Ghostbed mattresses are lighter than the average latex but heavier than the average memory foam model. Ghostbeds never need to be flipped.

General customer complaints about Ghostbed mattresses include:
The mattress is only available in one design and one firmness level, which may be limiting for customers with differing sleep preferences.
Customers living in Alaska or Hawaii must pay a $600 delivery charge, which is above-average for mattresses shipped to addresses outside the continental U.S.
Purchasers who have owned their mattress for fewer than 30 nights will not be eligible for the 101-night trial period, which could potentially confuse those who don’t read the fine print.
The Better Business Bureau’s grade for Ghostbed (D-) suggests that the company does not always respond to and resolve customer complaints in a timely fashion.
