Emma Mattress Review

The Bottom Line.

  • The Emma Mattress is built for a medium-firm feel with foam layers that conform closely to alleviate aches and pains.
  • The mattress comes with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty.
  • Thanks to a gel-infused top layer and a convoluted support core, the Emma Mattress sleeps cooler than most competing all-foam beds.

Quick Summary

Quick Summary

Emma is a mattress and bedding product manufacturer based in Frankfurt, Germany. The brand’s flagship bed is the Emma Mattress, an all-foam bed consisting of three primary layers: a top comfort layer of gel-infused polyfoam, a secondary comfort layer of AirCell polyfoam, and a support core made of convoluted, high-density polyfoam. The cover is a polyester-elastane blend. The Emma Mattress has a medium-firm feel, which corresponds to a 6 on the 1-10 firmness scale, and a 12-inch profile.

The mattress conforms to a moderate yet consistent extent and evenly distributes the sleeper’s weight. As a result, the bed is ideal for back and stomach sleepers who weigh at least 130 pounds, along with heavier side sleepers.

The Emma Mattress also isolates motion transfer very well and does not produce any noise when bearing weight, which makes it suitable for couples. Thanks to a gel-infused top layer and a convoluted support core with good airflow, the bed sleeps noticeably cooler than many competing all-foam models. At 58 pounds in a queen-size, it is exceptionally light and easy to lift, as well.

The Emma Mattress has a below-average price-point compared to other memory foam beds, and Emma offers free shipping within the contiguous U.S. The mattress is backed by a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty.

Read on to learn more about the Emma Mattress in terms of pricing, construction, and performance. This guide also includes an overview of the brand’s shipping, return, and warranty policies, along with some similar mattress recommendations.

What Type of Sleeper is Best Suited to an Emma Mattress?

Based on our customer feedback, the Emma Mattress has received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a bed.

For more information on sleeping positions please see our guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

As you can see, the Emma Mattress has earned the best ratings from back and stomach sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. This weight group typically prefers beds with medium or medium-firm settings because they conform to a noticeable extent without sagging or feeling uneven.

Heavier side sleepers may also prefer the Emma Mattress because it provides extra cushioning to their shoulders and hips, resulting in better spinal alignment.

We Recommend the Emma Mattress if...

  • You prefer sleep surfaces that offer a balance of body conforming and support.
  • You and/or your sleep partner awaken easily due to movement or noise.
  • You tend to sleep hot, especially on all-foam beds.
