Sleep Position Ratings

Douglas Mattress

The Medium-Firm feel of the Douglas Mattress is optimal for sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds. Average weight and heavyweight enjoyed the ample support and spinal alignment of the Douglas. Although the mattress is conforming, heavyweight sleepers did not feel like they sunk too far into the mattress. However, the Douglas may be too firm for the majority of lightweight sleepers. This mattress also provides good lumbar support for back sleepers. Side sleepers also found the Douglass mattress quite comfortable, but stomach sleepers may prefer a softer mattress.

Endy Mattress

The Endy Mattress performed well for sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds, with average weight sleepers rating the Endy the highest. This mattress provides a good balance of body-contouring and even support with good pressure relief and minimal sagging. Heavyweight sleepers were mixed in their ratings of the Endy mattress. While heavyweight side sleepers found the Endy to alleviate pressure reasonably, the Endy overall did not feel as comfortable  due to sagging around the lower back and hips. As a result, sleepers over 230 pounds may be more comfortable with a firmer mattress.

  • You tend to sleep cool.
  • You prefer a more firm sleep surface that moderately conforms to your body.
  • You or your partner are easily disturbed by movement and noise during the night.

How Is the Douglas Built?

The Douglas Mattress is a 10-inch mattress constructed with a 4-inch comfort layer and 6-inch support core. The comfort layer consists of a two-inch top layer of ecoLight memory foam infused with a cooling gel designed to dissipate heat and a two-inch layer of Elastex foam. The support core is made up of high-density polyfoam which provides ample, full-body support. The Douglas Mattress also features a removable, washable cover.

This mattress has a medium-firm (6) feel, providing a balance between body-contouring and responsiveness while offering excellent pressure relief and spinal alignment. As is the case with the majority of memory foam mattresses, the Douglas excels at isolating motion. Our testers experienced no motion transfer when another person was moving around next to them on the bed. And thanks to the unique addition of cooling gel within the top memory foam comfort layer, the Douglas Mattress is more temperature neutral and does not trap as much body heat as other all-foam mattresses.

How Is the Endy Mattress Built?

The Endy is an all-foam mattress that’s 10-inches in height. It’s constructed with a 2-inch open-cell polyfoam comfort layer that provides a responsive, medium-firm (6) sleep experience. Underneath the comfort layer is a 3-inch transitional layer of high-density (1.8 PCF) polyfoam which acts as a buffer to prevent sleepers from sinking too far into the mattress and contacting the support core. The Endy’s support core consists of 5-inches of high-density polyfoam. Although the support core and the transitional layer have the same density, the support core feels noticeably more firm, providing a strong base to stabilize and support the sleeper. The Endy Mattress also features a removable, washable cover.

Although the Endy’s comfort layer is lower density and somewhat breathable, our testers found the mattress to absorb a fair amount of body which may cause some sleepers to feel uncomfortably warm. Additionally, the lower density foam is more prone to wear and tear. However, the Endy’s all-foam construction minimizes motion transfer and is nearly silent when bearing weight.
