What You Need to Know about Brentwood Home Latex Mattresses

Mattress Type and Components:

  • Brentwood Home offers three mixed latex and foam mattress models. These mattresses vary in terms of specifications, firmness rating, and price point. These mattresses may be listed as latex and foam hybrids elsewhere, but according to Tuck.com, they do not meet the criteria for a true hybrid because they lack a coil-based support core.
    • The Mirador features a comfort layer with three main components: top and bottom layers of natural latex, and a middle layer of pocketed micro-coils. The support core is constructed with a top layer of ventilated ‘Airlux’ polyfoam and a standard polyfoam base layer. The stretch-knit cover is made of silk and cashmere, and also features wool lining.
    • The Palmetto is constructed with two adjoining layers of natural latex in the comfort layer. The support core features a top layer of ventilated ‘Airlux’ polyfoam and a standard polyfoam base layer. Like the Mirador, the Palmetto has a stretch-knit silk and cashmere cover with wool lining.
    • The Solano is designed with a single layer of latex in the comfort layer, making it the firmest of these three models. The support core features a top layer of ventilated ‘Airlux’ polyfoam and a standard polyfoam base layer. The knit cover is lined with wool.
  • Please note that Brentwood also offers memory foam and innerspring mattresses. For more information about these models, please visit our Brentwood Home Memory Foam Mattress Review and Brentwood Home Innerspring Mattress Review.

Pros:

  • Brentwood Home offers three different latex and foam mattresses, each with a different firmness rating, to accommodate a wider range of sleeper preferences.
  • Latex and foam mattresses from Brentwood Home have a below-average price-point compared to comparable models.

Cons:

  • Brentwood Home’s 10-year warranty includes five years of prorated coverage. Comparatively, 10-year warranties from most competing mattress manufacturers are completely nonprorated.
  • The 120-night sleep trial includes a mandatory 30-night break-in period; customers will not be eligible to return their mattress for a full refund until after 30 nights have elapsed. This could potentially cause confusing among purchasers that do not read the fine print.
  • Brentwood Home’s website does not provide cost details about the White Glove delivery option; this service typically costs at least $100 more than standard delivery.

Product and Price Range: Brentwood Home latex and foam mattresses are all available in seven sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Split King, and California King. The prices of these mattresses will vary by model series and size; a complete size and price breakdown can be found in the tables below. All Brentwood Home mattresses are manufactured in the United States.

Sleep Trial and Warranty Information

Trial Period and Guarantee: Brentwood Home offers a 120-night sleep trial for all latex and foam mattresses.

  1. The sleep trial includes a mandatory 30-night break-in period. Customers must test out the mattress for at least 30 nights in order to return it for a full product refund.
  2. Brentwood Home will arrange pickups for all returned mattresses; the model will be transported to a recycling facility or donation center at no extra charge to the purchaser.
  3. Customers are limited to two returns per year on all mattress and non-mattress products from Brentwood Home.
  4. The 120-night sleep trial is exclusively available to customers that purchase their mattresses directly from Brentwood Home. Those who buy their mattress from Amazon.com will qualify for the 30-night trial extended to customers of that site.

Warranty: Brentwood Home offers three warranties for mattresses: a 1-year full warranty, a 10-year limited warranty, and a 25-year limited warranty.

  1. Warranty coverage will begin on the original date of purchase.
  2. These three warranties vary in terms of length and prorated/nonprorated coverage.
    • The 1-year warranty is considered ‘full warranty coverage’. The owner will not be responsible for any charges associated with repairing or replacing a defective mattress. However, the owner arrange and pay for replacement mattresses to be shipped to their residence. There is no prorated period.
    • The 10-year warranty is divided into two coverage phases:
      • The first five years are nonprorated. The owner will not be responsible for any charges associated with repairing or replacing a defective mattress. However, the owner must arrange and pay for replacement mattresses to be shipped to their residence.
      • The last five years are prorated. During the sixth year, owners will pay to replace their mattress at a rate of 50% of the original product price. This rate will increase by 10% for each year; during the ninth year, owners will pay to replace their mattress at a rate of 90% of the original product price.
    • The 25-year warranty is divided into three coverage phases:
      • The first 10 years are nonprorated. The owner will not be responsible for any charges associated with repairing or replacing a defective mattress. However, the owner must arrange and pay for replacement mattresses to be shipped to their residence.
      • Years 11 to 20 are prorated at a variable rate. During the 11th year, owners will pay to replace their mattress at a rate of 50% of the original product price. This rate will increase by 5% for each year between 11 and 20; during the 20th year, owners will pay to replace their mattress at a rate of 95%.
      • Years 21 to 25 are prorated at a fixed rate of 95% of the original product price.
  3. Brentwood Home will, at their sole option, choose to repair or replace all mattresses that are deemed defective regardless of the warranty type or whether the owner’s coverage is nonprorated or prorated. Brentwood Home will replace all defective mattresses with the most comparable current model. Replacement mattresses will not receive a new warranty, nor will they cause the original warranty to be extended.
  4. Brentwood Home mattresses are designed for use on ‘a firm surface that is structurally capable of supporting the weight of the purchaser’s Brentwood Home mattress and user(s)’. This includes certain foundations, box springs, and bases. The warranty will be voided if improper foundational support is utilized. Per Brentwood Home: ‘A proper bed frame is defined, for the purpose of this Limited Warranty as having a least five to six (5-6) leg support for a Queen, Eastern King, and California King mattress, four (4) leg support for Twin and Full mattresses’.
  5. The limited warranty will cover the following mattress defects:
    • Visible indentations in the sleep surface that measure two inches (2″) or deeper and do not result from misuse or improper foundational support.
    • Cosmetic damages to the mattress not caused by normal wear and tear.
  6. The warranty will not cover the following:
    • Visible indentations that measure less than two inches (2″) in depth, or a ‘normal increase in softness’ that does not affect the pressure-relieving abilities of the mattress. These two issues are considered normal wear and tear.
    • Repair or replacement requests that are associated with changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
    • Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse or improper foundational support.
    • Mold, odor, discoloration, and other types of damage that result from improper care, liquid spills, poor ventilation, or exposure to harsh temperatures and/or conditions.
  7.  This warranty is exclusively extended to original purchasers that buy their mattress from Brentwood Home or an authorized mattress seller (such as Amazon.com). Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or an unauthorized seller will not be eligible for warranty coverage. Additionally, warranties are not offered for mattresses that have served as floor models in brick-and-mortar showrooms.
