In a complex world, the creators of BlanQuil are on a mission to leverage technology to help reduce stress, sleepiness, and health problems. The company manufactures a variety of sleep-centric products, including Egyptian cotton sheets, weighted sleep masks, and heated neck and shoulder wraps. Their flagship product is the BlanQuil Premium Weighted Blanket, designed to simulate Deep Pressure Touch Stimulation — also called Deep Pressure Therapy — or the calming feeling of being hugged. The weighted blanket can help soothe anxiety and reduce tossing and turning during the night, increasing your time in deep sleep and refreshing your sleep cycle.
The BlanQuil Premium Weighted Blanket is filled with eco-friendly, tiny glass beads within a poly-blend shell. The shell is sewn with 77 independent pockets to keep the glass pellets in place during the night. The Premium Weighted Blanket includes a soft, micro-plush duvet cover that can be removed to be washed and dried in the machine. The inner blanket is secured to the duvet cover with a system of eight ties. The microplush covers are available in a variety of colors, including grey, taupe, charcoal, and navy.
Beyond the BlanQuil Weighted Premium Blanket, the company offers a “Basic” version that does not include a removable duvet cover. BlanQuil also offers a model with a special Chill Cooling duvet cover designed specially for hot sleepers. The cooling duvet cover is crafted from a breathable fabric designed to absorb and dispel body heat while wicking away moisture. However, this review will focus on the company’s signature model, the BlanQuil Premium.

Sizing and Pricing

Materials and Construction
Measuring at 48” x 74” and weighing either 15 or 20 lbs, the BanQuil Premium Weighted Blanket is designed for a single user. The Premium Weighted Blanket is filled with eco-friendly, weighted glass pellets that are separated into 77 independent pockets to keep them held in place evenly across your body during the night.
The beads are encased in a polyblend shell beneath a microplush, removable duvet cover. Microplush is a soft, light fabric reminiscent of velvet. The material does not wick away moisture, but retains body heat and is machine washer & dryer-friendly. Microplush is also resistant to stains, odors, and mildew.

Cleaning and Care
The BlanQuil Premium Weighted Blanket is protected by a removable, machine wash & and dryer-friendly duvet cover. To protect the blanket while minimizing dust and allergen build-up, the company recommends washing the removable outer duvet cover according to instructions:
After unzipping the outer cover and removing the inner blanket, the outer cover should be washed on a cool, gentle cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent. Do not wash with bleach or whitening agent.
After the cycle is through, you can tumble dry the cover on a cool setting. Remove the cover before it is completely dry and hang it up to allow to finish drying.
Although the inner weighted portion of the BlanQuil may be machine-washed on a gentle cycle on occasion, hand-washing is highly recommended to extend the life of the product. To do so, the company recommends washing the inner weighted blanket in a large tub using mild detergent or gentle bubble bath solution. After washing and ringing dry, hang the blanket in the sun.
The company also recommends regularly vacuuming the BlanQuil with a handheld attachment between cleaning cycles to reduce allergen build-up.
Blanquil Weighted Blankets are available for purchase through the Blanquil website, as well as through both online and brick-and-mortar third-party retailers, such as amazon.com and Mattress Firm.
