The Tuck team collected all of the data possible on the Big Fig mattress but there aren’t enough verified customer experiences for us to give sleeper ratings for this review. Mattress Type and Components:
Big Fig offers a hybrid mattress.
The comfort layer features a top layer of ventilated latex, followed by a second layer of 1.8 PCF high-density polyfoam and two bottom layers of 2.5 PCF high-density polyfoam.
The support core is constructed with 15-gauge pocketed coils, and is encased in a polyfoam side and base layer. The coil counts range from 670 in a Twin to 1,600 in a King and California King.
The cover is a blend of polyurethane, viscose, and Lycra® spandex.
Please note: the Big Fig mattress is advertised as being specially designed for plus-size sleepers. Because we have not received sufficient customer data about this mattress, we cannot verify whether this claim is accurate for most sleepers.
Product and Price Range: The Big Fig mattress is available in six sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. These range in price from $1,199 (Twin) to $1,899 (King and California King). All Big Fig mattresses are manufactured in the United States.
The Big Fig mattress has a price-point that is below-average compared to the cost of other hybrid models.
Big Fig offers a 20-year warranty that is exclusively nonprorated. By comparison, most mattress warranties extending beyond 10 years are at least partially prorated, potentially resulting in higher costs for repairing or replacing defective mattresses.
Big Fig has been in business since 2016. As a result, the long-term performance of this mattress has not been properly evaluated.
One firmness rating, Medium Firm, is available with the Big Fig mattress; this may be limiting for customers who prefer to sleep on mattresses that are more or less firm.
Availability: Big Fig mattresses are exclusively available for sale on the Big Fig website. These mattresses are not currently sold through any other retailers (including Amazon.com), and Big Fig does not operate any brick-and-mortar stores or showrooms.
